Yep. I'll probably try to hit 5.0 to say i did it then go back to 4.6 and just run it cooler on water. I think I'm at 1.28 volts at 4.6 and temperatures aren't an issue under normal use.

So...question.

I am in the middle of a dilemma here. I am getting rid of my 7950 because I had had issues with it since day 1.

I bought an EVGA 570 off of Sweat for $100 that was brand new in the box. I am upgrading some stuff in my PC (ordered a new MOBO and CPU yesterday) and have been looking at a new GPU. Here are my options.

1. Order a 670 FTW edition.
2. Order a second 570 and SLI the two I have.

Both of those options are about in line with my budget.

Which would y'all do?

Also my third option is to sell my 7950 and get by on the 570 until the new Nvidia cards drop. I tested it and it runs everything that I play fairly well.

How old is your rig? Why all the changes?

If I were you I would read the reviews on the cards. Whichever one comes recommended get that one. Or just buy another card like you have and SLI.

The biggest reason for the changes is because I initially built a cheap rig just to play DayZ. I went cheap not knowing how much I would use it besides for DayZ. Now that I have pretty much made the switch from console to full time PC I have been upgrading. My original rig is 6 months old but after I change the MOBO and CPU the only thing original in it will be the ram and one HDD. I even changed the case.

If you wait for the new cards are you willing to pay the extra money and deal with driver/hardware issues that can come with the newest cards? I like my 670 and I would keep a close eye out for an awesome deal on a 670 or 680 in the coming months.

That's a big issue I thought of and I have never experienced dealing with a new release like some here have so I have no idea if I should fight it or not. That's why I was asking.

I missed a deal on a PNY 670 brand new for $279 this week. They are back ordered now.

LINK

The deal is not even up anymore and it was supposd to last through today.

Pretty much this. Unless you aren't worried about spending the extra money, it's not a good idea to wait for new technology and jump on it the minute it's released (in most cases, at least). But, if you want to wait for the next gen cards, plus a few extra months for the prices to drop and the drivers to catch up, then that might be the best option.

What kind of settings are you trying to game with? What resolution? A lot of people buy graphics cards that are more powerful than they need them to be, expecting huge noticeable performance boosts on a single 1080p monitor.

I run dual 1080p monitors now. My other monitor is mostly to have skype and whatever else up while I play. No Eyefinity or anything like that.

I also stream on Twitch (which is why I went with the new AMD 8 core CPU) and do a lot of photoshop stuff.

I don't need anything crazy. Just would like to either SLI my 570 or get a 670 FTW edition. Those are my options at this point I guess.

2 570s on air would be loud.

You could push the same frames with a 670 oced. Go 670 ftw IMO.

The 8350 you purchased?

I really want to get one for the home server. Trying to make data transfers and backups quicker.

Yep. It should be here tomorrow.

Got this MOBO coming too

ETA I don't have room in my case to do a whole loop but I am thinking of water cooling that 8350 just to see how far I can push it. I never OC'd anything before but that board and CPU combo are asking for it.

I've been hearing a lot of chatter about the 8350. I know it's good for rendering etc but is it really that good? Seems like it would make a damn strong build.

Anything I play. Just starting to get into it really

Twitch

I had to start a new one because of some adsense issues on my old one

New one

Old one

I would rather stream than make videos at this point which is why I haven't madea a video in a month or so.

I am about to stream an hour or so of Crysis 3 Beta starting in about 10 minutes.

Yea it just came out. I knew I had to get it with the 8350. I am hoping I will have something I can live with for a few years.

Just another thing to do and you can make some spare $$$ off of all of it.

Some people do it all full time for a living but they have been doing it for years and have a large following.
