If you truly believe that's what those who have voiced displeasure or concern about Miles on this forum believe then you are way off base.
I believe most of those who have voiced displeasure or concern about Miles on this forum couldn't coach their way to a peewee championship much less do what Miles has done which is to have more acheivement than any other coach in LSU history and be one of the top 5 coaches in the game since 2005 in wins.
But you guys are good for a hearty

While at LSU in 1961 I remember gathering around the dorm TV to watch Coach Dietzel proclaim "I will never leave LSU". Everyone cheered. Week or two later he had taken the head coaching job at Army.
(But seems like at that time there was a lot of speculation about a certain Dentist's wife having a lot to do with Dietzel's quick departure from Baton Rouge)

You have to be kidding? One of the greatest championship games in any sport at any level that ended on a last second TD and you call that an "embarrassment" and compare it to the other coaches in that list who actually DID have embarrassing losses?
I can't stand ole "toothy grin" Carroll who is a complete douche, but you're acting like an undefeated Texas was a scrub. VY was pissed off that Bush won the Heisman over him and he came to show why they screwed up. One of, if not the most dominant performances by a player in NC history.

The idea that they should get a do-over/second chance/rematch before a CC with the other factors I brought up does exactly what others in here have said; it rendered the regular season meaningless.
You can't have it both ways. Either "every game counts" as the BcS tells us or only 1 game matters.
1-1 or 0-2. That was the scenario with putting Bama in. We already saw the game once. OSU deserved to go based on EVERYTHING we have seen from the BcS through the years.
All day long team SEC would argue SOS, ranked teams, CC's, etc. Why does that suddenly disappear and a "good loss" take precedence?

Bama was better than Ok. State and everyone who knows anything about football and most who don't, understood that.
The system wasn't set up to prevent a rematch, so you ended up with the two best teams playing again. You don't have to be a "bama fan" to realize Bama and LSU were in a league of their own, no one else was even close.

I did mean to use the words "deserved to go" more than to imply Okie was better than Bama. I did think Bama was probably better than Okie before the NC as well. I did NOT think Bama deserved a second chance before Okie got a first one.
But everything else you're posting is all opinion BS. We have seen times where a better team might have been left out. Politics favor the SEC. Okie St had more right to claim the #2 spot. That's not opinion. That's based off them winning their conference, SOS, ranked teams beat, etc.
If this was reversed, you damn well know Bama still would have gone over Okie and their "good loss".

Everyone's opinion on the subject is BS because the FBS doesn't recognize a champion. You can claim whatever you wish.
Two best teams played independent of the season, and it was fair because there are no rules to prevent. Just the way it is and you just have to accept it.
Claim the championship. The NCAA doesn't recognize one

You cannot deny CC, SOS, ranked teams, winning records. You just can't. Bama had NONE of those.

And to grill a guy who has been at a school 8 yrs cause he listens to a friend bout an opening the friend had is bout as silly as it gets.
I think it's important/classy that both the coach and school honor their 1st contract, but after that it shouldn't be such a big deal to anyone including Dan.
We all know cause of impact on recruiting a coach and a school has to have at lease a 2-3 contract they can show to recruits/parents.
Dan needs to wake up and smell the coffee as to how things work it todays world of SEC football.
