I was at Game 1 against Stony Brook. It was one of the greatest games I've ever witnessed in person. It had an atmosphere that rivaled the Irvine game.

at the old box it was lively for sec games and postseason. just like at the new box. the old box was quiet for midweek games, just like the new box (outside of when tulane or ULL are good). and everywhere around the country for that matter when it comes to midweek games.

honestly im curious as to how many games you've been to the old and new box. i wouldnt doubt if you've been to a good bit at the old one but would be surprised if you've been to more than a handful at the new one.

Yea the Box is just as lively for SEC games, but midweek games it's always pretty toned down Old and New Box.

My grandma's husband used to try to win us over by taking us to games at the Old Box all the time. Went to a bunch of them, midweek and weekend. I've been to the New Box probably 4 times and I've watched on television a lot. Obviously not the same but I digress.

I understand what you are saying, but for big games and big SEC series, the new Box is usually rocking.

Obviously nothing can replace the old Box. I miss the train going behind the stadium. Now you can barely hear it.

People always rip on me when I say that I prefer the old Box to the new Box. As far as the magic in the air, tailgating across the street, the feeling when you walked in, the tradition, the respect of the past...the new Box has nothing on the old Box. It's just not the same.

The new Box has all the bells and whistles, we needed it for recruiting, blah blah blah. They could have done things to the old box to renovate it but still maintain that magic, but they chose to go new, and I think it sucks.

No they couldn't. There was no room to expand things to the way they needed to be. And I'm not talking about adding seats.

A lot of "stuff" was brought in for UC Irvine.

I love how you could walk in with food as well.

And the press box. It was substandard.

People tend to romanticize these sort of things. The new alex box is better hands down. What you have to the old box is just the memories, but now there will be a whole new generation who will create new memories at the new box. Life goes on.

Order an Abita Andygator and the ultimate nachos. This years team should be better with the sticks so hopefully we can put more runs on the board.

They have Andygator on tap?! the New Box is a gorgeous stadium, but that right there is pretty awesome.

Basketball definitely does. Andygator, Purple Haze, Turbodog, Stella, Blue Moon seasonal, and some regular domestics and I may be missing some. Baseball had a bunch, including St. Arnold's fancy lawnmower. Both had Covington strawberry ale which is better than the abita strawberry.

At baseball games I think it's $6. At basketball they have a large for like $6.50 and a jumbo for $8.50. You get a jumbo andygator and you're pretty much set.
