Fighting Sioux is a good one. Wow. Just looked it up and they are being forced to change. that sucks

Razorbacks is a good one. I have read that there is a pretty long history of associating "razorback" hogs to the state. It's more tied to the area than I ever new.
Also I like South Dakota State Jackrabbits

So the reason the students want the new nickname to be the Lawyers is so they can still say "Let's go Sioux!" [sue]

That really sucks that schools catch shite for their nickname being associated with an Indian tribe. Awesome that FSU has full support of the Seminole tribe.

Re: Indian names. Rule of thumb should be what the tribe thinks. If the Seminoles are down with FSU having that nickname, fine. If the Sioux don't like UND being the Sioux, UND ought to change.
And Washington Redskins? C'mon, man. It's past time to come up with a different name.
