Where does COD go after BLOPS2?

I don't think the community supports Infinity Ward anymore after the abortion that was MW3, and I know for a fact I'm not buying any more IW COD games. BLOPS2 has probably been the best Call of Duty I've ever invested a lot of time in, and that wouldn't even be close if the maps were a little better, so its clear to me that the game can continue to be entertaining, but I know even some hardcore players that admit that BLOPS2 is a fantastic game, but they've stopped playing because they are tired of the same formula over and over again.
So where does the franchise go after BLOPS2 runs its course? Personally, I think the COD series could lose its place on the top of the mountain if IW bombs again. Lot of competition these days for a bad product.

I don't doubt Treyarch can continue to make quality games for the series, but if there is a horrible game in between every Treyarch release I also wonder how that will effect them long term.

It's a matter of opinion, but the maps in MW3 were honestly the worst maps in any COD I have ever played and had the worst spawns on top of that.
Plus the Striker + Dual Wield FMGs = the purest form of rage imaginable.
...and Support killstreaks giving Stealth Bombers is gay as frick.

My biggest gripe with the maps on BLOPS 2 is there is so many fricking entrances to each and every room. Two or three doors, then hey lets put some fricking boxes/crates etc so they can climb up through the got damn windows.
For fricks sake you cannot lock down a room.

Support streaks were so fricking lame. Some bad who goes 15-15 can call in an emp and stop someone who went 30-0 from using their ac130 in the final minute of a game...fricking seriously?

that would be awesome, I would definitely buy it if they just re-released COD4 with updated graphics and everything else the same.
