Any body got any experience with these guns. I seen a .243 with a scope today for $199, used. Looked to be in good shape. I am looking for something to get the wife into shooting and if she wants to maybe actually hunt with.
Thanks
Thanks

They'd have to pay me to take that.

I have one and it shoots great.... I bought mind for $220 from someone and haven't had any problems with it. I shot it the another day and the gun is still hitting the bull eye on the target... If it's not an american gun, people gonna tell you it sucks... This is a Brazilian gun and people just don't want to give any credit...

My Browning was made in Japan and I still like it.
Tikka T3s are made in Finland and people love them.
Regardless, an old family friend has a Rossi Handi rifle and he loves it. I like it for what it is too.

I had a rossi .308 single shot a while ago.... I mean, it shoots straight, but I'd much rather shoot my ruger m77.
For somebody just getting into shooting it should be fine.

I know several people who've had issues with the Rossi. I'm sure they're not all bad. But I think there's better options for not much more money.

I'm looking for a single shot youth 243 for my 8 year old.
Where are they at for 199?

I've heard that you'll run across them that just don't shoot consistant. 2" high one shot, 3" to the left next shot.

My H&R was like that until I got the right ammo in it. But I've heard the same thing you said.

I use Remington's Express Core-Lokt 100 gr it shoots very accurately.

I have one that I bought for my 8 year old. Had the same thoughts as many. Affordable out of the box single shot youth deer rifle with a scope that will be fine for shots up to 100 yards. It's a piece of crap. It wiggles at the break and is overall put together like junk. I have to get the firing pin looked at because it doesnt punch hard enough to fire the round. I know you get what you pay for but I thought I could get by with it for a few years till I could get him a better gun. Wrong. my expectations for the gun were extremelly low but this piece of junk didnt come close to meeting those. Income tax gets here I'm doing it right and will buy a real youth 243 and scope (probably Rem 700) and he will have it to give his kid one day.

Wow, sounds like you had one of those rare moments...

My son started out with one. First shot was always dead on and then it would be all over the place unless you layed it down for about five minutes. Recoils even on the 243 is a little rough. The 308 he is shootin now has less recoil.
