6 month turn around on applications in Orange County!

Stink I live in Tampa. I recieved mine in 10 days. However, that was Pre-Paranoia. I could have gotten it sooner if I had gone up to Pasco County but I was not in a hurry. Call around to some surrounding counties and find out what their back log is and just go there.

Solid advice.

I'm not in a big hurry for it or anything. My guns are more for home protection and to plink with. I really don't plan on cc'ing that much....just wanted to be able to if I wanted to.

Now that I already started the process, I'll probably just wait it out.

EOSS in the past but I am in the the process of joining the Central Florida Rifle and Pistol Club. Their range is just south of the 528 and I live just north of the 528.

You?

SD,
I initially certified early in Obama's firt term w/ a FL non-resident CCL. It took about 2-3 months (using ink prints), as I recall. When LA stopped recognizing the FL non-resident CCL, I got a LA CCL. From the time I submitted it (using digital scan prints) until I received it was 12 weeks. Of course, the last 3 days of waiting was because the printer in the office in BR was out of ink and they had to get another cartrided (I'm NOT kidding ). Good luck and be patient. Use your waiting time as a chance to find some ammo!

I was running around looking for ammo today

I was just looking for some 22 lr rounds at a decent price to plink around with until prices get right again.....I have a few thousand on order online but it's probably going to be 45 days or so until I get it.

Un phucking believable what is going on out there right now. I probably went to 7-8 different places today without finding anything! Guy at Dicks said that the get about 50k rounds in at least once a week and it is all gone within a couple of hours of hitting the shelves.

I submitted my application in Louisiana 2 days before Sandy Hook and it took 1 month to come in. I was expecting a delay due to an influx of applications after everything, but it really wasn't all that long for here. Especially with the holidays.

As a FL CC carrier, I can tell you it used to be a couple of weeks. FL residents are arming up as much as any in the nation. It's just the current backlog.

There is an office in the twin state buildings on Hughey Ave and Robinson Street in Orlando where they issue them by appointment only and you have the license in just a week or two.

Yeh, I'm gonna call tomorrow and see what how long it is to get an appt. Someone earlier said that the appointments are running more than a month out right now. But i'm gonna call in the morning.

They can keep their ammo, or shove it up their asses. The choice is theirs.

You no like Dicks?

Why may I ask....I didn't even ask about the prices because they didn't have any but I figured it would be the regular price like most of the "big box" stores?

Right now I have a membership to Shoot Straight in Casselberry but I shoot at Gander all the time as well.

I plan on joining an outdoor club also this spring. I live north of Orlando in Seminole county and there are a few up here.

Bunch of discussions on here about Dicks. Right after they shooting they pulled all guns off shelves near the shooting but then they caved and said no more "modern sporting rifles" will be carried any longer. They also wouldn't fill any backorders for people who had paid normal prices during black Friday leaving many of those having to look for ARs at much higher prices.

Helo nailed it.

They equated law abiding gun owners with criminals. I'm not a fan of all that noise.

I'm a member on the one in Apopka. Went shooting today and it was jam packed. Nice range and well run.

I occasionally drive up the Ocala National Forest and shoot my big stuff on the range up there.

I'm shocked at how many Orlando people on here today. We need an Orlando OD board.

When I 1st moved to Central FL I hit the one in Apopka up a few times for this and that. SOB holster, few boxes of .45 ammo, laser for one of my pistols....none of it was real cheap but they had what I wanted. We got a house on the east side now and I'm never up that way anymore so I haven't been by in a couple of years.

While we have a few central FL people poking around..I'll ask, anyone know of sone places to squirrel hunt around here? I was looking at the central FL WMAs and I don't see where there are hardly any small game open days???

Edit to add - looks like Seminole State Forest has Sundays only through the 27th of this month....and that was all I found? Seems pretty slim for small game days....

I'm in he Avalon Park/Waterford Lakes area...I go fishing on Lake Mills every once in a while. And my kids like to go walk the boardwalk trails out there too.

Looks like there are quite a few of us coonass transplants around here....
