It was an unloaded weapon and what in that article states he has any training? So fricking what he retired from the sheriff's office are all employess in the office deputies, this idiot could have been a janitor at the sheriff's office for all we know.

The cop is obviously an idiot and should pay for the mistake with his job but the chances are like one in a billion that a kid is going to come in be like "time to shoot up the school". Most people aren't psychopaths.

Most of the time police are just reacting to crime. There's very little crime prevention done. This is one of the few areas where you can have some level of prevention, although I don't think we need full fledged police officers.
