re: The hard numbers on Rivals "Bama Bias"Posted by doubleb on 1/17/13 at 4:30 pm to bamasgot13
If I ran a recruiting service, I'd do just what these recruiting gurus do, I'd weight my predictions towards the better schools.
Does anyone believe that Rivals and 24/7 have better scouts and evaluators than do Alabama, Ohio State, LSU, etc?????????????
I do not.
My top ten for 2013
1) Alabama
2) Florida
3) Ohio State
4) Oregon
5) Georgia
6) LSU
7) Oklahoma
8) Notre Dame
10) Michigan
I did my list in 2 minutes and didn't burn any gas or watch a single tape.
Now to seel more subscriptions, I could drop a couple of teams out and add a couple in every month or so and really gin up interest.

and it has been for some time....as I said years ago, "Saban is building a monster at bama." considering what he has at his disposal LSU has played very well against him in every game except the the JL meltdown and the mulligan. we must get better cause Sabama is here to stay.

I'm a Die-hard LSU fan But how can you argue rankings.Alabama guys getting bias rankings maybe but when those guys are winning championships and we are going to the fricking chicken bowl . Maybe those rankings include head coaching for extra points

247 sports does their rankings with respect to where they think these guys will be drafted in 3-4 years. Picking a lot of Bama guys high is not a bad way to start.

With the best recruits and by far the best coaches in T-town...I am just amazed that little ole LSU can hang in like we do.

So are you saying that Bama's false recruiting rankings have led to 3 NC's in the last 4 years?
Sounds good to me. Makes sense.

Exactly. JC explained this on Bill Kings show yesterday morning. All of their ranking are based on draftability, not how they project in college.

So the argument is Rivals was started by Bama grads so they're bias.
Now we have 247...yeah!!!
But wait, 247 actually ranks Bama higher than Rivals. That doesn't make sense.
BUT WAIT, 247 was started by Bama grads.
So the entire world of recruiting (and ESPN for that matter) is against LSU and pro Bama.
That's not fair
Or just maybe these recruiting services do their homework and the best recruits are going to the school that has the best history of winning a NCs. Could that be the case?
Nah...what am I thinking? It's all a conspiracy against LSU. How can we not be ranked #1 in EVERYTHING? I just don't understand. :wah:

You're not an LSU fan if you use the term " Butthurt." That's reserved for Bama fans.
Bama fans are full of themselves. One at my office stays on the internet all day looking at bama recruits and any news he can find on Saban.
He printed out a ranking from 4 or 5 recruiting sources. He looks at them and tells me the 2 he thinks is legitimate is the 2 who have bama at 1 and 2. The others had bama anywhere from 6th to 9th at the time.

Didn't the Bama guy who started Rivals leave to create 247? Clearly both sites are tainted
Yahoo threw their money around at them and had to much control. If you listen to Bill King or any other 247 radio/podcast, there is a lot more personal commercials that the host runs through because they rely on independent donations and sponsorships more heavily now.

Not the false recruiting rankings, the unwarranted rematch that national media pushed through; not having to play Oregon in Miami when the same type of season and reasoning put Bama in the year before; and more than anything, LSU being without 6 starters for most of the

Are you serious? Oregon had a loss. ND didn't. Nothing like last year.

Except bama isn't close to #1, and not having USC on there is an absolute fricking joke.

The past 2 recruiting years it is 24/7 that has taken over the Bama bias. As has been stated, (Lucky) a big Bama booster started Rivals and then 2 years or so ago sold it to yahoo and since started 24/7. They will always be #1 on 24/7 from here on out, even though other sites may not rank them that high. Same as it was when he owned Rivals in the past. Just my 2 cents for what it is worth.

3/4 maybe not delusional
