This could get interesting in my area. Camp Shelby, the largest deployment center for the Army, is in the Hattiesburg area.
Camp Shelby is full on gun loving Mississippians. I don't see them supporting the feds in this.

This is an easy fix. Mississippi, the poorest quote: country in the Union, just won't get all the Federal money they so desperately need to appear even halfway viable. I will gladly stop paying taxes to the Feds if they stopped the welfare money that poors into this state. I will take that trade any day. Tell the welfare lifers they have to move to another state to receive welfare would be a God send to this state.

It's the same thing with the federal drug busts of medical marijuana in CA. Miss may not enforce it but the Feds will. And we see what happened with southern governors tried to block the Feds.

Yes. The point then was to expand freedom. If done now, the point would be to suppress freedom. I would say that of the troopers sent in, over half would not feel right about what they were doing. It's a whole different mindset.

Tard. Why should a soveriegn state and all of its citizens(see the 10th) "comply" with the word of one man sitting on the toilet? Oh, BTW how many idiots voted for Oboe twice, besides yourself?

Mississippi has no gun registration nor do you need a license to carry a weapon in a vehicle. We also have a very low crime rate for the most part. Meridian and Jackson are the exeptions to that.

Hardly the same. Gun ownership is a right listed within our constitution. marijuana is not. A few people have weed.. ALOT of people own gns. Nowhere near the same

This, above all else, will define our future freedoms. If states lose this fight, it's over. Whoever is in the white house will be dictator in cheif. It becomes a down hill slide.

It's exactly the same. The Feds enforce federal law. Drug laws are passed under the Commerce Clause as are gun laws and that's been upheld by the SCOTUS. States don't get to say what's constitutional. George Wallace learned that the hard way. Even Scalia said in Heller that restrictions on the 2nd are Constitutional. The 2nd is not an absolute any more than the 1st is. Until the SCOTUS rules on new restrictions, states cannot stop the Feds from enforcing federal law. Period.

Perhaps but at least the states opposing Obama's edict will know where they stand.

This has nothing to do with his "edict". There's nothing in the EO for states to oppose. This is if Congress passes a law and Obama signs it.

What part of the executive order would the states be opposing?
