I do wish New Orleans had a decent alternative festival. It seems like Voodoo is becoming more and more like Jazz Fest 2.0 every year. Jazz Fest has always been a little middle-agey in my opinion, so I expect these types of lineups (not a knock).

I feel to old for Voodoo fest at times so I wouldn't say Jazz Fest 2.0.

If anything, I feel Jazz Fest tries to hard to get the modern act which I think goes against its roots... but I get it, its all about revenue..

Exactly, replacing Green Day

1995 called, Lollapalooza is pissed and wants it's festival back.

Did you even see them? They were amazing and kicked arse. Far better than Green Day. I do agree the rest of the lineup was pretty weak outside of Neil Young, and even then I can understand complaints of Neil not fitting in with the alternative nature of Voodoo. Oh and frick Skrillex

Are you kidding me? Neil Young is the forefather of alternative rock.

The Thursday of Jazz Fest is by far the best day. Less crowded and thicker grooves.

That would be Iggy Pop or Lou Reed, IMO
