No shit, but they benefit by more guns being sold. Their membership is up 250,000 since reelection

they were actually doing perfectly fine before all of this nonsense. It wasn't odd for a smaller gun company to have a waitlist of 6+ months and some over 2 years
Well go check out the stocks of gun companies since Obama. Im talking past 4-5 years since coming into office. Actually the small gun dealers I know don't wait 6 months but whatever.

When you register your gun with the manufacturer there is a pop up screen for NRA. Then you get mail from them.

I know a guy that owns a small gun store and he is just about overwhelmed with business. He also reloads and sales reloading supplies / rents reloading equipment in his store and he has made some serious bank since Obama took office. Nothing like a knee jerk reaction and fear to drive sales. This guy makes no bones about it that Obama is the best thing to ever happen to his business.....

Read again exactly what you just said. Sounds stupid, right? NRA does not sell guns. NRA sometimes gets donations from gun makers if they chose to do so. Guns being sold =/= NRA gaining membership. I can go buy 100 guns and not join the NRA.quote:

Most smaller gun makers are nowhere near publicly traded. It is only the biggest ones. They were all doing fine. Now they don't have enough guns and are back ordered for the foreseeable future Smaller gun company =/= small gun dealers. Smaller gun "manufacturers" typically were backordered if they had a desirable product. Some specialized companies had a waitlist of 2 yearsquote:

I am not required to register a gun. I used to get magazines from them when I was a member, but haven't gotten anything since I dropped my membership

Yeah but those guns don't do Obama any good he needs to find away to get the guns down to Mexico. Cartels will kick him and Holder back their bribe money.

5 years? Try the past 2 to 3 months. I don't keep up with their respective stocks, but I would think they are quite healthy now that the crisis is averted for the moment and considering their sales recently. They may be the most healthy companies in America at the moment.

Also think long-term. While "military style assault weapons" might not be the biggest part of their sales, it will still make a dent. No way to predict how what the effects of this are gonna be though, but the few people that have a good supply of inventory are raking it in

I'm against big money lobbying in our politics, especially congress. I'm not against the right of existence for big corporations and other organizations per se. I'm just sick and tired of our representatives in congress being legally permitted to "whore" themselves and their votes out to the highest bidder. They are supposed to be representing the people of our country, not the money of certain entities, special interest, and political action groups, whatever/whomever they be. That's what needs to be banned.

From March 24, 2012 LINK High points *Winchester’s sales of ammunition have gone from $431.7 million to $572 million, an increase of 33% *Federal excise taxes collected on the sale of new firearms and ammunition has risen 48.3% January 2012 was the 20th straight month of increases in NICS background checks compared to the same month in the previous year *December 2011 saw over 1.41 million NICS background checks run, the most ever for a single month *The few states which regularly report concealed carry permit numbers have seen increases in active permit holders ranging from 46% to 161% We were told an '08 Obama win would result in a gun taken'. It didnt and gun manufacturers, and the government, have gotten fat off it it. Call it like it is. OP is right on the mark.

The NRA is made up of US citizens who believe in the 2nd amendment. They have a right to organize and petition their government. They have a right to endorse, campaign and vote for those who support the 2nd amendment. It really gets old when people think that only their view is the one worthy of being heard and supported. Harry Reid gets endorsed by the NRA because even though he's a left winger, the majority of his constituents believe in the 2nd amendment, and he knows that could cost him his job. He's relieved that the House won't pass Obama's gun control wish list. That gets him off the hot seat.

And if you don't think that Obama would love nothing more than to ban all guns in the hands of private citizens, or at least restrict them as much as possible, there's a girl on the internet that would just love to meet you.

Really, do you actually think he's going to come out and say "I want to ban guns from private citizens"? I look at his views on all of the issues, his actions on things he knows he can get away with, Immigration, health care, recess appointments, energy. His "evolution" on gay marriage. And I should trust him? I look at those who have influenced his thinking....Frank Marshall Davis, Alinsky, his grandfather. Those all supported an intervening powerful central government. I have no doubt in my mind that if he could, he would end the right to posession of firearms. So far the USSC has kept him and others like him from doing this. But just like Health Care, he and others are in it for the long haul, and will make this an incremental battle. They may not be able to repeal the 2nd amendment, but they will do everything in their power to hamper it, curtail it. And the power to appoint judges is one way they'll do it, if they can.

Just because you dont trust him doesnt mean he wants to take all your guns. I dont trust him either, it doesnt make my greatest fears reality.

Congrats, you win biggest moron of the day, all before 9am I really wish the son-of-a-bitch could come up with at least ONE piece of legislation that didn't split the country down the middle. Thing is, he knows everything will and he still pushes all of it through, without trying to find any semblance of middle ground. Then, he blames everyone's anger and disagreement on partisan politics. People are just too GD stupid to realize it In the words of the now famous Eric Cartman, "Wha-Eva, I do what I want"
