not sure if serious

I lived there. Most Americans who have never been exposed to it would be befuddled at the differences between our cultures and how families interact. I don't know if RN imbibed this culture or not. I'm just saying that we shouldn't try to rationalize his decision based on an American set of values.

Tell him honestly that about 10 threads get started a day on LSU boards about him...so, if he were to come to BR, he would be kind of a big deal.

Haven't you noticed that everything surrounding the RN recruitment is about his brother, his parents and his high school teammates? His tribe!

I know that "tribe" sounds like an anachronism, but it's not. The odds are greater than 50/50 that his mother has scars on her face indicating her tribe.

That's true. There are several tribes, and people are generally classified according to tribe. Whay's funny is that I used to work with a guy who had just moved here from Lagos, and when he asked black people what tribe they were from, he got some awfully confused looks and some not-so-kind comments.

Here is my pitch. We will give you as much money as we give most top recruits and provide you with a platform for exposure to take your next step and make more money at the next level.

I'd say "Look son. You're a great player. You're going to play on Sundays no matter where you go to school. What we can offer is the competition and training you need so that when you do get to the NFL, you'll hit the ground running. You'll already be at the level that many players that have been in the league for years will just be getting to. You'll get a big 1st round contract whether you come here, go to Ole Miss or go to Florida. What we want to do is make sure that your second contract is even bigger than your first."
