1. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS
(2-14) Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan: Fisher was my pick last week and will remain the Chiefs' pick. Nothing they have done in free agency would indicate they are headed in a different direction.
2. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS
(2-14) Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M: The Jags have many needs but Joeckel will be the highest-ranked player on their board and a 10-year starter.
3. OAKLAND RAIDERS
(4-12) Sharrif Floyd, DT, Florida: Nothing new on the Raiders' front as they take an instant starter on a porous defense.
4. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
(4-12) Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama: The Eagles may consider QB Geno Smith in this spot but they may come back in the second round for a QB like EJ Manuel.
5. DETROIT LIONS
(4-12) Barkevious Mingo, OLB, LSU: After watching a few more LSU games especially the Washington game I can see the rare athletic ability in Mingo. He reminds me of Jason Taylor but quicker.
6. CLEVELAND BROWNS
(5-11) Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia: Granted they signed Paul Kruger but to put Jones 74 plays behind the line of scrimmage on the opposite side makes the Brown defense dangerous.
7. ARIZONA CARDINALS
(5-11) Matt Barkley, QB, Southern California: The rumors about the Cardinals passing on a QB in the first round are hard to believe considering the offense would be left to Drew Stanton and Brian Hoyer. Barkley's pro day is coming and so is his private workout.
8. BUFFALO BILLS
(6-10) Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia: The Bills' situation isn't much different than the Cardinals. There's no chance the Bills are starting Tarvaris Jackson or waiting until the second round and possibly missing out on the QB they want in this draft.
9. NEW YORK JETS
(6-10) Dion Jordan, DE, Oregon: The Jets can't rush the passer and haven't addressed the issue in free agency. The only real pass rushers left in free agency are all older players like Abraham and Freeney.
10. TENNESSEE TITANS
(6-10) Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah: The Utah DT can play NT or "3 Technique" and is a penetrator. His presence will enhance the opportunities for the defensive ends.
11. SAN DIEGO CHARGERS
(7-9) Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma: The Chargers need offensive line help at left tackle and guard. Take the LT in the first round and come back later for a guard. Johnson has all the athletic ability in the world to protect Philip Rivers' blind side. He will struggle early with power rushers but will improve quickly.
12. MIAMI DOLPHINS

With the Saints switching to a 3-4 defense, their draft priorities should change from the defensive line to outside linebacker. New Orleans has some fits on its line with Cam Jordan at end and Akiem Hicks as a nose tackle or end.
However, the Saints could use a good edge-rusher. They have to hope that Martez Wilson or Junior Galette could man one spot, but the team really needs to find a consistent pass-rusher off the edge. New Orleans could target another five-technique or nose tackle in the mid-rounds.
Jones decided not to work out at the Combine, but that isn't surprising. Scouts at the East-West Shrine told WalterFootball.com that Jones would slide on draft day because they believe he will test poorly before the draft and isn't a hard worker in the weight room. The scouts said that watching the game tape, Jones is worthy of being a top draft pick, but they don't believe he will go that high. Plus there is the neck injury concern that could scare off some teams.
Jones was one of the best pass-rushers in college football in 2011. He tied for the second-most sacks in the nation, 13.5. Jones also had 70 tackles, 19.5 tackles for a loss and two forced fumbles.
The junior was excellent this season. He dominated Missouri, stepping up with huge plays to help lead the Bulldogs to a win. Jones had nine tackles with two sacks, a forced fumble, a pass batted and an interception returned 21 yards to the goal line against the Tigers. He also caused two other forced fumbles that he wasn't given credit for. The turnovers the linebacker created came late in the game and sealed the win for Georgia.
Jones did the same thing to Florida. He totaled 13 tackles, 4.5 tackles for a loss, three sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. Jones also made the game-saving play with a forced fumble around the Georgia 5-yard line in the final minutes. It was a tremendous outing that illustrated his ability to make big plays in big games.
Jones is a dynamite pass-rusher. The way he runs down signal-callers in the pocket and flies around the football field is similar to former Texas A&M linebacker Von Miller. Jones' speed and pass-rushing skills make him extremely disruptive. He has a good burst off the edge which takes tackles by surprise and sets them up for him to beat them around the corner or dodge back to the inside.
Jones never takes plays off given his non-stop motor; he gives relentless effort. Jones amassed 85 tackles, 14.5 sacks, 24.5 tackles for a loss, seven forced fumbles, three passes broken up and a pick in 2012.
The USC transfer fit well in the Georgia defense and looks like an ideal 3-4 outside linebacker for the next level. For a 4-3 defense, he could play in a similar manner to Von Miller. The 6-foot-3, 241-pounder could be the top talent in the 2013 NFL Draft at any position.

Haha oh I know all about what this site thinks about BR... That why I said a "surprisingly decent" mock. I think menelik is definitely a reach, but he projects as a better LT thank Fluker. It will be interesting if we don't address the oline in free agency

Jeremiah is a good guy. Was a QB at Appalachian St. Was a fulltime scout for the Ravens and Browns for a few years. Comes across very balanced and not inclined to the hyperbole you can find in the entertainment side of the draft.
What I ask looking at mocks is if there is some pick(s) that look wildly out of whack from consensus or what I've read. Nothing too crazy there. My biggest question would be wondering if two guards could go in the top 13. Guards and LBs (other than 3-4OLB) are among the most downgraded in value it seems.
I'm guessing Mingo is over the 50% across all mocks as the consensus pick. The big four, Jones, Jordan, Ansah, & Mingo are all draft worthy. The outlook now seems decently favorable that at least one can make it to #15.

Vacarro might be available 5-10 picks later. That or an Ogletree or Damontre Moore with a 2nd Rder added wouldn't be a bad option.

Yeah with Austin and Patterson still on the board, Minny with 2 1st rounders...they might want to move up a bit to get one of those guys. Maybe Chicago too?

I just think we wont go LB anymore after we sign Butler today. I think we go OT in the third. So it came down to DT and S. There is no DT worth this pick so I went Vacarro.

I hope we get him, it would make me feel a lot better about our linebackers.
I like Martez and Juneyah but we definitely need more depth there. I like Lofton and Hawthorne but I don't like the depth behind them. I mean I love what Vilma has done here but he can't have to much longer here, time to start thinking long term IMO.
And watch me as I jump for joy at bringing back Humber and Herring...
I guess Herring has more value on special teams. I hope we can stay healthy at ILB this year is all I'm saying.

I don't think having three guys (Juneyah, Tez, Butler) that have never been a fulltime 34 OLB starter is a situation they are gonna feel good to go with. Add another vet (like my pimped Shaun Phillips) or a #15 and you have some serious competition. Saints camps are fiercely competitive. The more and better the players the better the result will be. That's the beauty of the PT23 story. dlP, Galette, Bushrod, Colston, etc etc- the roster is filled with guys we might have not penciled in as the favorite in position competition.

Scouting Report
The Saints defense was historically bad last season and they could use help on all three levels. This pick may just come down to grabbing the best defender available. New Orleans must make this choice count too because their second rounder was forfeited as part of the Bountygate punishment. Rex Ryan was brought in as the new defensive coordinator so the Saints are transitioning to a 3-4 scheme and will have to revamp the personnel in their front seven. The Saints defense was historically bad last season and they could use help on all three levels. This pick may just come down to grabbing the best defender available. New Orleans must make this choice count too because their second rounder was forfeited as part of the Bountygate punishment. Rex Ryan was brought in as the new defensive coordinator so the Saints are transitioning to a 3-4 scheme and will have to revamp the personnel in their front seven. Saints are shifting to a 3-4 and Star's medical situation could drop him a few slots.
As much as we would like a high profile pass rusher Lotulelei might be an even bigger prize when thinking about building a 3-4 for years to come.

Wasn't a fan of picking Star at 15 before but the more I read about him, the more I would be okay with the selection.
However, the more I read about him, the more I think he gets picked before the Saints have a crack at him.

Jones & Star are the two big wildcards IMO
Jones is a Top 5, Star a Top 10 lock as far as players. Their issues could possibly enable either to slip to #15. I think still less than 50% chance of either but say above 25% on the low end as well. The same issues that could have them drop to #15 might have the Saints passing on them as well though. I'd be more excited for either though than any Saints 1st Rder in a very long time.

I'm sure its been posted somewhere but Star had a great pro day. Apparently they thought the cardiac abnormality could've been the result of a virus/dehydration.
