I may get the monitor sooner than later since I am currently gaming on my 15.6" screen on my laptop.

I'd check eBay/Craigslist for a monitor. That's where I got 2 of my ASUS vh236h for $110 each

Puff, Seasonic is the best PSU bar none, and I have a 650w in my build now and plan to put 850w in my next one. I think it's well worth it

Wasn't hating on seasonic. Was just making a point that if he is doing a budget build he could save some money there if he was willing to sacrifice it being 80 plus platinum, nearly silent, etc. I know that my 90 dollar clearance psu isn't as good as a 170 dollar one. It just happened to be a good price for the things I wanted which were reliability first, wattage second, modularity third, and silence last. For 90 dollars I got a high wattage, 80 plus gold, modular, reliable brand that runs pretty quietly.

The 850w was on sale a month or two ago for $119, but nothing is on sale now. Hell, my X650 was $79.99 whenever I bought it

fair enough but at the time I wasn't going to wait for a specific psu to go on serious discount. I was in the middle of a build and just wanted to get it running. lol

less time on builds and more on delivering on the drawing, the way have you it set up the first winner has to decline before we can move on.

nope, chances are that I will decline if I win, but others may need the winnings.

There is one thing I would like, but I am headed out tomorrow for my mothers spinal surgery and dont' want my yes or no to hold things up since I will be out of touch for a while.

...and the X750 can be had for $89.99 when they go on sale. Unless you are going to sli or crossfire you really don't need more than 500w.

Seasonic is a great brand but it's not the topnotch brand out there. The Hive series by rosewill are really good (made by super flower). FSP, Sparkle, and PC power & cooling are also really good.

Rosewill Hive 750w is on sale right now for $90 on Newegg.

Don't know if you guys realize it or not but there are only like 3 or 4 actual PSU manufacturers. Seasonic is one of them. Many of the other ones you see are actually made by Seasonic

yup PC Power & cooling is made by Seasonic. FSP make their own power supply.

Just ordered the LIAN LI case I liked. Don't want to force a buy now on anything without it being a decent deal. I am going to go with an SSD card and high capacity HD. I'll post updates and most likely pics of the final build.

Wanted to say thanks to everyone contributing their knowledge in the thread. I really appreciate it.

What do you guys think of going for this EVGA 670 GTX for only 399.99 from amazon?

400 dollars is the average price point for overclocked 670s. People on here contend that evga makes the best gpus, particularly the ftw editions because they are the best binned gpus to start. You can't go wrong with that one, although you could probably find a different one a little cheaper(10-20 dollars) with some diligent research.

I think the 10-20 bucks might be worth the ease of using Newegg. Thanks for the input. I'll probably buy it tonight unless someone on here comes up with a good reason not to.

7950s perform the same, if not better and could be had for $50-100 less

I know ATI is a a respectable brand, I just have always been an Nvidia. I'm open to using them on this build, I just don't know which of there manufacturers are best. Saphire/gigabyte/MSI...

Ive had two sapphire and one asus radeon vid cards. no problems with either, the original sapphire was a 4800 series and the fan finally went out a couple of weeks ago. no telling how old that was.
