I'm about to get into more soup making, and I'm looking at immersion blenders. I know little to nothing about indoor kitchen appliances.

Is there a better brand, specifc features, one to stay away from?

TIA

I got the Cuisinart CSB-76 SmartStick 200-Watt for my GF for Christmas and she loves it.

She's used it for soups, dressings and even last night for pasta sauce. Blended up carrots, celery and onions in about 45 seconds.
