If i were the school's president i would fire the crap out of a teacher for failing star players. Last year it was Fab Melo and this year it is Sutherland. It is always a player that is key to the team as well. How does this keep happening at the Cuse?

Chances are they just aren't going to class. If they aren't showing up, even a teacher who is "on board" with the basketball program would be hard pressed to give them a C.

Some schools have integrity, something I wouldn't expect a gump to understand so I won't hold it against you.

Yea, like McFadden was Rhode Scholar. Student athletes are essentially why most schools have large faculty and staffs. If not for college athletics that generate revenue, most schools would be like Tufts.

Actual revenue generated by a typical athletic department, if any, is relatively inconsequential.

This. Plus, if Syracuse was stupid enough to do something like this, there would be an absolute shitstorm in the academic community, and well deserved.

There are about 340 Division 1 Athletic Departments.
Of those about 30 make over $1 million in revenue. Another ten make just enough to be sustainable. Therefore 300 Division 1 Athletic Departments actually operate at a loss. If anything, you could argue these schools would be able to afford larger and better faculty if not for their athletic departments.

Unc has taken this to the next level. Not only do they never fail players, the classes they take don't even fricking exist!

Take a look at the endowments and grants that Big Ten, ACC and Ivy League schools have and then get back with me on that one, Einstein. There's a very good reason why the Big Ten wants their schools to be AAU members and why the CIC carries so much weight.
