Dems still go by the 1/16th rule and use things like placement of cheekbones to determine ethnicity and race. Remember, this is a Cherokee.

There's probably some room on Stone Mountain for his likeness. Maybe as a lead for one of the horses.

As long as people like you keep bringing shite like this up, we will never get over racism. He's a mullato not black for one. So he's the first mullato POTUS. When we get a spanish POTUS does he get up there too? Eskimo, Native American, Asian, tranny whatever. When in the frick does it stop?

Obama was a necessary evil. This country's treatment of the black race, in general, was abysmal. Truth. Obama's race helped him get elected, when white ridiculously liberal candidates could never get elected (McGovern, Mondale, Dukakis, Kerry.) This country needed a black president, unfortunately, we got stuck w/ a leftist idealogue.

When a R minority is elected, you can bet they will be painted as a Cornball brother or any other catch-phrase concerning their status(hispanic, female, etc.)

What the frick does him being black have to do with anything? Your saying he should be up there because of the fact that he is black and got elected? Some ppl wonder why this country is so fricked up, they need look no further than ppl such as yourself.

Martin Van Bueren was the first American born United States citizen to be president. Where's his mountain?

It's fricked up because asinine people like you and mooseknuckle. Don't sit there and act like it is not a big deal to have a president of color over a nation that is predominantly caucasion, when the colored were once slaves in the very same nation. Why would anyone or people like you hate the fact that we as Americans have come so far in our history. Majority of the posters in this thread probably have nothing negative to say about blacks but it isn't a big deal that one became president? Yea right, you wish you could be president.

No, I'm not naive enough to believe that parts of American history didn't happen. Racism has always existed and most likely some form of it always will. I will recognize achievement in American history as it should be.

I couldn't care less about skin color. The times you are talking about were dominated by skin-color based judgments/politics. We aren't denying those times didn't happen, we just don't want the reverse to become commonplace, that is we don't want skin color and race to have a place in politics. I, like most people who despise racism, judge people not by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. Making race a big deal because it is the opposite of times before does nothing to help the cause. A colorless society is what we want, not a society where race is deemed significant, regardless if it's in a bad way or not.

This is a well thought out response and I agree. To caveat this though I wouldn't be butthurt if they actually did something to recognize him though. Why take it so personally like most in the thread are doing.
