The modularity of AR-type rifles, along with their ability to be customized in just about every way possible, really makes them a very attractive option for younger hunters.

How long have "assault rifles" been available to the public?
Aren't there more incidents of violence with basically every other type of firearm, per capita of the number of "assault rifles" in private hands?
In fact isn't the percent of incidents with these "assault rifles" almost statistically insignificant?
Using the answers to the above: Why is there even a discussion on "assault rifles"?

The anti-gun morons will never understand that while the AR-15 CARBINES, look scary, they are not assault rifles, they are just a cooler looking hunting rifle. As mentioned before, the appeal is all the customs you can add to them. Most law abiding Americans have to go through numerous classes and red tape to be able to buy an actual assault rifle. Honestly, a slug fired from a semi-auto shotgun does more damage than the AR-15 .223
