are you ignorant of the founders comments, or willfully ignorant after having read them?
You know you can say this 1000 times and it doesn't make it more right than the first time you say it.
And you can copy and post emails again and again with quotes attributed to the wrong people or taken out of context or whatever you like.
And I can quote the actual Constitution. Section 1 Article 8 gives Congress the power "To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions."
Congress then passed two Militia Acts in 1792 granting the president the authority of the president to call out the militias
Now at the time, we did not have a standing army. The Militia was to be used for the common defense.
The 2nd was to ensure the Militia would be armed.
Your argument is that the founders gave Congress and then the president authority to call out the militia to repel against invasions and rebellion, then gave the people the right to guns to bring about rebellion that they gave Congress and the President the authority to use the militia to suppress.
We just have a difference of opinion.
But I can tell you that you can have all the assault weapons you want and they won't do a lick of good against the power of the government. The power of rebellion comes from support from the people unless you're some banana republic.
I can also tell you that if you're trying to win support from the middle of the road folks, suggesting you need your guns to rebel against the government is not a good way to win support.
