Funny considering the 2 seasons he was here were the most we've thrown it over the last 6.

He meant Air it out as in throw the ball down field vertically. Not bubble screens and other flat toss b.s.

Like his td pass vs auburn? When was Byrd ever used in screens? Never. I also doubt he ever said that.

I'm going to give an example of 2 guys I know. One played for dinardo/saban one saban/miles.

Guy loved dinardo and hates Satan. Claims dinardo started it and was bringing in talent lsu hadn't seen in a while.

Other guy was indifferent. Loved Saban and miles. Both had a diff approach. Never said one was better than the other.

No, like all the screens to the flats that we threw. Byrd was speaking for all of the recievers.

And yea I know Shawn Jordan too.

in his 2 years here there were over 800 pass attempts, around 6000 yards receiving and over 12.5 yards per completion...of course he wanted to go deep more, what receiver doesn't? But the fact is he slacked during the last half of '08 as Lee struggled.

Yea the former player I know had the exact opposite to say. He said that Miles was too much of a micro-manager in practice and drilled them on technique excessively. Given, the player was an O-lineman

I don't know Shawn Jordan. I don't know Laron landry either, I just happened to sit next to him on a plane when we were both students and I was skeptical about miles at the time so asked him if he liked Saban better.

But it's funny how people are bitching we don't throw out to the flats now and don't throw screens, and here you are saying we did that too much in 07 and 08.

I understand what you are saying, but it is pretty miserable being reminded of 'Bama's great fortune living here in Birmingham. I know...move if you don't like it. But I can't, so I just put up with it. Thus, I understand how some people internalize a bad season (relatively) or a big loss.

That doesn't surprise me, either. It's a job, and after they've put in their hours, they want to think about something else. To us, it's a hobby or a pastime we used to get our minds off our jobs

That's a good point - maybe we shouldn't be so hard on the guys for using their "non-football time" (when they're not studying and going to clas, of course), playing video games, drinking, carousing, chasing women and smoking the reefer.

Cameron Vaughn was bitter every time I met him. He hated Saban and Miles. He was also mad that they didn't put him on the front of the fricking media guide his senior year and let Bonnette know it.

Maybe if he could fricking tackle Gerald Riggs, Jr. instead of Ole'ing him and letting him in the endzone in OT, I would feel bad for him. GR3 was so fricking soft and Cam was absolutely not. He should be ashamed of that effort for the rest of his life.

I am friends with one that now plays in the NFL (no name) he said when he graduated he went straight to Atlanta to a training camp for 4 months and learned more in those 4 months than he learned the entire 4 years at LSU. Still a diehard, PASSIONATE LSU fan , never said anything about CLM.

I know one defensive starter for Miles, he played under Saban. Said if he had to choose one over the other it would be Miles. Said that the Saban process was wearing very thin with him and others. Said Miles had alot of knowledge yet had a harder time getting it into practice.

I never played past high school and have only known a few college players over the years. It seemed to me that I took our high school losses harder than the college players. Seems to support the hobby vs. job theory.
