Because in this case, they dominate the board. At any point, nearly every thread on the first page in one way or another is something negative about the program.
Sure they do after a game like Clemson (as an example). But there are plenty of "positive" threads started also....some of which are just as ridiculous as any negative thread just the other way.

If I had a nickel for every "drink bleach", "hang yourself", "you're an idiot", "your a giant pussy" response to a thread criticizing coaching I would have a giant arse pile of nickels. And there are two self appointed Miles knights that post those genius retorts in every single thread.

To them, failing to worship the man and daring to criticize him = wanting him immediately fired, which is absurd.

I think most people criticizing are just frustrated as hell at the potential that is being wasted by boneheaded coaching moves, particularly on offense. They want changes and improvement, not to fire the whole staff.

And its called The Rant for a reason. Ranting makes one feel better.

The place is negative in so many useless ways.

You what man, if you folks would create some discussion threads and avoid the negative ones, you could change some of the dynamics. All I see from the posi-pissers are threads calling out everyone else.

I don't think y'all realize it, but the dynamics you hate are ones you help create.

By "positigers," I presume you mean the irrationally exuberant, wilfuly ignorant fools who are oblivious to any flaws in Miles or the staff, rather than posters who have a measured but optimistic view of the program? If so, that sect really shouldn't be referred to as "positigers," but rather as Idolators of Les Miles. They have predicated their entire interest in the LSU program on their love and deification of one man. They can't distinguish between LSU qua program and the individual who happens to coach them at any given moment. In that regard, they are absolutely no different than the "Sabanistas" they profess to disdain. Both are cults of personality revolving around a single individual. As to why the Idolators are so belligerent, it is because they are growing desperate. Saban has outdistanced Miles, Alabama is ascendant, LSU clearly isn't the premier program in the SEC West, LSU hasn't won an NC in half a decade, and Miles has suffered a number of setbacks this past year: 1/9, a subpar 2012 recruiting class, off the field shenanigans like Tyrann's dismissal, a home loss to Alabama which included some quizzical coaching decisions, continuing offensive stagnation, and - most recently - losing an eleven point fourth quarter lead to Clemson. Rather than objectively discussing the past year and its implications, the Idolators believe they can efface history by dint of sheer frenzy and posting volume. Hence the rabid frothing. This is what happens when you take extreme positions and then insist on clinging to them despite all evidence. In any event, thankfully such posters constitute a tiny fraction of the fanbase. Most people recognize Miles's true strengths and deficiencies. Similarly, most people recognize that irrespective of those deficiencies, Miles will be the head coach at LSU for the foreseeable future. All we can do is hope that Miles improves, rectifies his flaws, and leads us to an NC. There's nothing else to be done at this juncture.

Holy frick.

Very likely the best post I've ever read on this board. Mad props.

the only part that that actually made sense

you don't call out the "negatigers" because you are one. you can wrap up your posts with a pretty little bow but the fact remains.

it's same posters every season. they never have anything positive to say. they rarely post after a win...unless that win wasn't as pretty as they thought it should be...then they bitch incessantly about shite everyone already knows. While others take it to another level by calling the players and coaches names that think are really clever.

they think they're doing this board a favor with their over the top criticism. We know...we're watching the same fricking game as you are. you're not smarter than anyone else here or anyone on the coaching staff. you're not enlightening anyone with your cute little stats.

mainly...it's the ones that dwell in negativity because their life sucks or because their trolling. i don't care which one. the ones that refuse to post anything positive about the LSU program because it may be viewed as saying something positive about Miles. the ones that state shite like its a fact and we're all stupid if we don't believe it. those are the dickbags that ruin this board...the idiots that start a new thread about every stupid negative thought they have because they think its so fricking clever. and i will continue to make these people look like idiots on a daily basis but the vast majority have no clue what the frick they're talking about...although they're really good at acting like it.

Bitching on a message board is not going to get the LSU AD to buyout Miles contract...ever.

Your pre-sup is showing. By lumping all who post concerns into the straw basket man of wanting Miles fired/contract buyout/whatever, you are making a serious miscalculation of the motives of a lot of us who are expressing our frustration with this coach's stubborn unwillingness to fix what is clearly broken. And bitching about bitching is no less counterproductive than screaming for Miles' head on a platter.

So for the bazillionth time: Just fix it, Coach. We know you can.

So you present yourself as one...
quote:

guy that loves LSU
Great, I am another. And setting yourself up as the judge or arbiter of who loves and who does not love LSU, well, to quote:
quote:

I find that behavior more than counter productive.
If some people here who regularly criticize those who are openly dissatisfied with the status quo on offense, the red zone problems, the difficulty beating even the easiest opponents handily, the give-aways of games to Alabama and Clemson, and yes possibly even Florida this year, and to lump all such persons into the big, dark basket called "negatives" (politely) is doing nothing to show Tiger unity and a lot to antagonize a large, yes a large segment of the Tiger fanbase - who by the way are also guys and women who love LSU. But who want to see LSU do better than underachieve or choke (like we did versus Bama and Clemson and Florida).

But to give credit where credit is due, I am very pleased as a guy who loves LSU football, that our coach and team did beat Johnny Football's aTm Aggies this year. That win looks even bigger now than it did then.

Let's see, "their life sucks", "those are the dickbags", "the idiots", "the vast majority have no clue what the frick they're talking about".

From a self-proclaimed "posi-tiger". Exactly why, for the most part, I just lurk. If you're not looking through purple and gold glasses, you are lumped into one of the aforementioned categories.

Posi-tigers are mindless Miles worshipers who know deep down that their coach is a moron who is taking the ship down. They cannot accept this and can only resort to personal attacks against anyone who expresses a contrary view. They believe themselves to know all. One day soon, they will go quiet with their legs between their legs. The truth is hurting them...pity on them...
