It's not spite. It's just that they went from being a really good, sleazy rock act who churned out some scorching tunes to this bland, generic, beiger than beige act that has all of the emotional punch of a Starbucks commercial. They are an entirely different band.
Modest Mouse got popular and stayed awesome. It's not impossible.

I guess its possible to like both "versions" of KOL... but I agree with the poster above (Baloo)... I dont care for anything past the first record, except maybe a song or two...
Wilco is another example... alt-country to more of a pop/noise/avant-garde sort of band (i cant really label them)... And I still like them, because their good, though I acknowledge they may have lost more of the country leaning folks..

I mean, that's true and all, but I recall just pure vitriol for them a couple of years ago during the popular success.
I'm more curious as to if enough time has passed for people to appreciate their old stuff and separate the emotional reaction to the new stuff.
Also, I never listened to Come Around Sundown and wanted some general feedback on that.
