Aside from the NC season, he wasn't spectacular like he is now.

He became a better coach and it's easier to succeed at Bama. Bama has a legacy that provides it certain benefits. Those benefits are not a huge difference but it is enough to separate Bama from LSU.

Yes. LSU was close without him 2007 and almost 2011.

People act like he is so much better now, but the fact is the early years he was establishing himself and after 03 he would've continued to get top 3 recruiting classes. We never got into the depth of his recruiting classes in terms of the players being mature until about 06 and by that time he was two years removed.

He did. It's called Les Miles win/loss record that so many sunshine pumpers love to point out.

He improved from the guy who lost on last second Hail Mary to Iowa. On Bama sideline, he coaches to the last whistle when up by 28 in the NCS game. At LSU, his mind was in Miami before last game. Maybe he feels like there is more to live up to at bama.

Its a valid question, and there's nothing wrong with speculation.

And yes, I believe he would have performed just as well in Baton Rouge.

Without out a doubt he would have, look at what he did in his short tenure here. First National Championship since 1959, not even a question.
