Let's say Griffin's knee is ruined and he'll be out the year or so

You basically have to fire Shanahan out of spite because the only reason your franchise would be relevant for the forseeable future is much more important than a coach who jeopardized his future.

Why fire him? I would like to hear one logical reason to fire him. If you ask Griffin, he would have been out there until he couldn't. And that is exactly what he did. If he doesn't go back in, people are comparing him to Cutler.

Its the head coachs' ultimate responsibility to protect the players from themselves and MAKE THAT DECISION for them. AKA Steelers with Ryan Clark.

Ryan Clarks issue could actually end his life right? Last I checked a ripped knee keeps you breathing.

Meh. I've seen this before, but I disagree. Cutler's situation fit into a neat narrative that already existed about him.

If Griffin doesn't play people probably just say he's being smart and putting the team first by not playing injured. Because that's the narrative that would fit neatly with him.

That said firing Shanahan for this is duummbbb.

Exactly, because people dislike Cutler, and like the Cornball.

A few would, but most would not. Cutler got a lot of flack because he's a dick and nobody likes him.

After watching it a few times, I really think his knee was very bad with significant damage prior to "the" play.

remember when many of us thought insert name here was done?

its football, your body is going to get beat up and you're going to get injured.

I remember when Brady ripped his ACL and thought he would never come back the same.

I thought Peyton was going to retire when he sat out the year with knee. wrong.

I thought Stafford was injury prone because he only played in 13 games his first two years but since then he's started every game.

You fire him for not sitting Griffin when it was obvious that he was hurting the team.
