Other than nukes, how do you get rid of them?

Stopped seeing any signs of deer but plenty of these bastards over thousands of acres. We'll start hunting them after deer season but can't imagine we'll be able to make a serious dent in the population. HELP!!

Where's your place? I'll bring out some firepower if you supply the night vision.

Get some of those exploding targets (tannerite etc) put golden acorns around it. Wait for the hogs to come in. Push play on video recorder. Shoot target. Post video for the OB to enjoy.

Seriously though, the only real way to make a dent is to trap those bastards.

The first hing you could do is quit feeding them corn. They'll breed up to three or four times a year if they have enough food.

I put this video in the other hog trap thread:

It is pretty cool how they take out the whole sounder at one time (Even if they had to introduce big momma to a weatherby).

We used to hunt em all night during the summers in South MS...q-beams, 4 wheelers, still hunt em, killed over 300 hogs one summer off a 250 acre tract. Trapped and killed probably at least that many. I do not believe there is a way to eradicate the entire population once they have moved in. But they are the most tasty target shooting I have ever done!

We had this problem on about 3000 acres and we used dogs and caught about 5 in 30 min and killed another one and all were around 200+ lbs and after that we didnt see another hog for five years and they slowly came back and i believe this past off season we used traps and caught about 30 and killed some others during the season...its hard to put a dent in them...especially when they breed 3xs a year

The only thing I've seen work well is somebody with good dogs who knows what they're doing. He won't kill/trap them all, but they'll quit hanging around so much when they start getting bit and shot at.

Doesn't seem to affect the deer very much. A guy at a place I hunt has been having them ran hard on his place and we're still seeing deer but far less hogs.

I've had the damn hogs knock over and break the legs of two of those kind of feeders. The best way I've been told, by a guy who does it for a living, is using an infrared scope and silencer in a large field at night, but that would run a good bit of money. Trapping, poison, dogs, just shooting doesn't work, they're smart enough and reproduce too quickly to be wiped out those ways.
