re: What happened to OJ?

If memory serves, OJ is doing what amounts to a life sentence for him, in Nevada, for kidnapping and robbing a sports memorabilia dealer in Las Vegas.

they should have never allowed him to try on the glove: the leather shrunk and/or OJ's hands were swollen. Either way, the fact that he couldn't get his hand into it wasn't evidence that he didn't wear them, but you couldn't explain that to those nimrods they picked for jurors.

While it was an error for the DA to ask him to try the gloves on it shows just how stupid some people can be in a 12 person jury. The gloves were meant to be a snug fit and all anyone would have to do is spread out their hand while trying them on to make it appear they don't fit.

A guy posted on another board that he was a retired SFPD cop who had had runins with OJ when he was a teenage gangbanger in San Fran. Take it FWIW.

Are you incapable of reaching your own conclusions? Conviction and guilt are not the same thing. For a rational person he is clearly guilty.

re: What happened to OJ?

I got called for jury duty year before last. On my way in, I saw another faculty member from my department, a couple of professional staff and admin types from the university, several business owners/well-known businessmen, and even a line supervisor from the local tire plant.

By the second round of voir dire, we were all eliminated. The ones left didn't look like they could find their arse with both hands and a map. I shudder at the thought of my liberty being in the hands of the kinds of idiots they put on juries nowadays.

Indeed. I couldn't believe the prosecution was so stupid as to put O.J. completely in control of that moment.

Wasn't Marsha Clark getting porked by Christopher Darden the whole time? For real. I think she was drunk on the bbc and out of it.

Exactly. He was found not guilty, as opposed to innocent, by a jury of his peers. Several jurors even attended a post trial party at the atty's office. In the civil suit case, he was tried by an entirely different type of jury pool & found to be legally at fault.

...using a different burden of proof - a preponderance of evidence, instead of beyond a reasonable doubt. Evidence rules are more relaxed, too.

Yeah, I think that's right. They were all drunk on celebrity as well, including the judge. The whole thing was a farce.

Yep. She was a former dancer and loved his BBC.

I remember watching the verdict while in college, rolling a joint and thinking about how stupid the jurors must be to have believed the web of conspiracy theory bull shite that Cochran fed them.

And then, yes, I smoked the joint.

The "kidnapping" charge was pure bull shite. If some shady sports memorabilia dealer broke into Troy Aikman's house and stole his things, then Troy gets his boys together to go to the hotel room and take his stuff back nobody cares if one of them was carrying a gun. "Don't let anybody leave the room" is quite a stretch for a kidnapping charge.
