I'm on my phone, so I don't feel like searching, but is this a record?

He lives by the Peter Givens code.

Yeah, and Smith has been the #1 seed a couple of times, including this year. Better win this year.
At least Cincy was the lowest seed.
Anyway, about Marvin. I'm not sure what to think. They seem to have a ton of talent on both offense and defense. This team should be better.

Jim Mora did the same. Lewis has been around this long for the same reason Mora was.

I have no clue why they haven't gotten rid of him yet.

All-time winningest coach in Bengals history, a great defensive coach, drafts very well, his team are usually always competitive (if not at least in the playoffs or on the cusp of the playoffs), and he's done all this coaching for a historically cheap franchise. This is why Marvin Lewis still has his job and should keep it.
If Marvin Lewis is fired, I think he gets another HC job soon thereafter and will be a HC for another NFL next season.

Lewis' record just screams mediocrity. Bengals fans (and ownership) seem to be ok with that. Maybe a change of scenery to a team with higher expectations would benefit him.

I don't think Cincy is going to fire Marvin, but next year they need to win a playoff game. Baltimore will still be the division leader, but Pittsburgh is getting older, and Cleveland will still be a bit away from being very competitive. If Cincinnati doesn't lose any of it's best players and has another good draft, they should be looking at a division title and better playoff performances. It's time for Marvin and Cincinnati to step up and play better when it counts.

Overall sure but he's been to the playoffs 3 years out of the last 4.

At least he isn't Curly Hallman, I mean Bruce Coslet.

Mike Brown runs the Bengals like he's Mr Potter from It's a Wonderful Life. I think he has the lowest paid coach and most cap space of any team in the playoffs, so he's probably ecstatic about the situation.

One more season of sneaking in the playoffs and he's gone.

Add to that the fact that he has a minority coach which puts him in great favor with the league office. Whether you agree that should be a factor or not, it counts for a lot.

What exactly does it count for? Do tell.
