Everyone had a short list of possible DC's and Chavis was on none of them and he came on here and told us it'd be a guy from another SEC team in the East thats orange (or something like that without saying UT directly). People called bullshite, and BOOM it happened.

at one point he flat out said it was Chavis. like a day or 2 before news broke.

Belowpar has been around a long time and given out some great inside info. Most of it was on paysites.

oh damn I barely remember that.

Called Kragthorpe as well. And let everyone know Crowton was on his way out even as Les was saying publicly that he thought Gary did a great job that season.

You know, I know people in LSU Athletics. I've called them up before and even they don't know what is going on...and they're Associate X X of X. One guy didn't even know Johnny Jones was getting hired until he saw it on the news.

Then that guy is a terrible insider if he didn't know that

Thats what I was thinking.

My dad has little-to-no inside connections and he emailed me a few days before and told me it'd be Johnny Jones

I guess but unless the guy works in Football Operations, it's pretty tight lipped. Some of my family are big time boosters and they sound like the Rant half the time.

I'm just skeptical of it all.

CLM used the word "adjustments", not "changes",in his post game press conference. Not wise to take his words at face value, but this would seem to indicate that there won't be any significant changes in his staff; perhaps some reshuffling of duties at best.

Earthworm,
We remember it differently. I used to believe he was the man, but over time he seemed less and less reliable as the insider we all hoped he was. Educated guesses and intuition do not equal "knowing".
You can claim he broke the news of Crowton, Malveto, Chavis, Kragthorpe, and Stud, but all I see are comments on those topics, that definitely have an air of authority, but seem to be all over the place at the same time. I have these from old emails with friends in 2008 and 2009.

haha, nah, sorry, something came up...

I don't know who will be gone and who won't for sure...We will for sure have a new DC...

I would say he is looking/talking to most of the guys that are mentioned on here, but for all the people that say its going to be "so and so" they are wrong as of now...FOR SURE, there is no decision on who it will be. They are looking and talking and they will find who the best will be. As far as 5 coaches being gone...no clue on who or if that is accurate...

So I guess all my for sure information right now is, there will be a new DC, the process is started on looking and talking to some, but I am FOR SURE that there is no deal with anyone.

belowpar:
Tenuta, Robinson, Orgeron, VanGorder, Koenning other NFL asst's, Chavis, I mean most all the names you guys mention are in the running. I know the ones above have been talked about probably a little more, and there are more, just not sure right now, sorry I have a lot going on. Not Bumpas I know that...umm, its really still kind of in the air to be honest...I think he will talk to several.

Please note Crowton left after the 2010 season and Kragthorpe replaced him, these are from 2009.

Porter-Already announced gone
McCarthy (WR Coach)-Gone, probably with Porter "
belowpar's Best "Guess" ;)

re: Tyke Tolbert arrived in BR today
Belowpar: "I'm pretty sure this is basically a done deal, I think he is hired."
LINK

Belowpar: "Kragthorpe has already been interviewed. well, i should take back the "interview" part... The parties have talked...I probably wouldn't go as far as to say "interview" "
LINK

Belowpar:
"i'm not sure on who else Miles has talked to...and yes I stand by Crowtown will be gone..
Stud....I don't know to be honest"

"Stud may be leaving too, I just don't know that, nor do I know if he is staying.
I simply just don't know."

After the past two seasons, LSU needs to take some of Stud's salary away and give it to Chavis. The Chief is carrying most of the load.

I only tell what I know. Chicken (runs the site) knows EXACTLY who I am and has met me in person. Take it for what that is.

I don't know anything about the OC position, been out of the loop for a bit. I'll see what I can do.
