Juniors, and worse RS Sophomores (why, Brockers, why?) leaving for the NFL is by far my biggest sports-related pet peeve. It shows a lack of commitment on the part of the player as well as a lack of caring about the players on the part of the NFL. I really think it would address a lot of issues if the league made a 4-year college degree and SENIOR classification mandatory in order to be draft eligible.

Stupid idea, many guys are ready after 3 years and college isn't their career, AFTER college is what their career is. Why deny them what they want to do?

So, if you were at job A on a four year contract with zero salary and the only benefit you got was a one bedroom apartment and free work supplies, then got an opportunity to go to job B based on their management's evaluation of you at a salary starting out at $1 million a year and you accepted, could we criticize you for a lack of caring about job A?

The rule applies to all schools..It is what it is!
Why do you think all these def. players want to come here..To play great and move on to the league early

Some of these guys have an opportunity to provide a better living for their entire extended family. How can you pass up that chance? I hate when they leave, but I can't blame them at all.

You sound selfish. Those players put their bodies on the line every Saturday in the fall for their school. Why not get paid for it when you get the opportunity by going pro?

If anything, they should be able to leave earlier. It seems wrong to be able to tell a grown man he can't make a living in the thing he's best at.

Actually, they probably can leave earlier and play in Canada - isn't the rule an NFL rule, note NCAA?

I miss seeing the guys that leave early playing in TS. That is admittedly selfish of me. The NFL is their dream, and if they are ready to move on to their career, then they should go. I hope that all of them listen to sound and unbiased advice though. Too many listen to family, friends, hangers-on and/or agents looking for a fast buck.
To those that move on, a heart felt thanks for the memories. I appreciate the dedication and hard work you put in so I could enjoy my Saturdays in TS.
