Everyone making excuses for the defense playing 100 Plays!!?!

Well why the frick didnt they stop Clemson before they got to 100? Where the hell were they on play 38? 47? 71?

Pathetic excuse for a supposed top tier defense

Someone has to be on the field. LSU's offense sure wasn't.

You clearly don;t get it. Does your husband know you are on here. The offense is what keeps your defense off the field dumb arse.

The defense had way more good plays vs bad plays last night. Even with a terrific QB and WR tandem that were the two best players on the field last nite, they still graded out well.
The offense can not say the same thing, completely dominated! 9 first downs is tough to swallow for the Chief Im sure.

When an offense runs 100 plays a few of them are going to work its a probability thing and when u are gased that probability goes up. Simple math.

Our defense is a fly all over the field defense that is not built to play even 80 plays. Our power running game is supposed to eat at least 30 minutes of the clock and allow our defense to play ferociously for their 60-65 plays and create as much havoc as possible.

The pass defense was not great all game long but still good enough to hold until fatigue in 4th

It's fun to hear all the miles apologist blame the defense. Miles cant be wrong with the offense.

our offense wasn't on the field much and their offense runs a lot of plays

for years all i've heard is how we're so great against hurry up teams because we run the ball, control the clock, and use that to tee up on the opposing offense while on D...well, which of those things didn't happen last night?

3 and out x 9 = 100 plays for the other team.

Bcause LSU's offense had eight 3 and outs against a pitiful Clemson defense. Kept giving the ball back to Clemson.

Clemson's offense was able to eventually sustain drives as the LSU defense wore down. Florida game all over again.

Miles is 10 years behind the times. Defense can only do so much against modern offenses. Eventually, the offense has to contribute.

no defense is going to stop a clemson-type offense all night when they're constantly left on the field to stop it

that's the whole reason why that type of offense is so popular now

Our offense, outside of six or seven run plays, did nothing to help the defense. However, our pass defense has been leaky since late Novemeber and it became our undoing. Simon regressed this year with Mo and Mathieu gone, and Mills/Collins are still young. It would be one thing if our DBs were asked to cover for long periods of time, but our pass rush was the best I saw all year last night. Our pass defense should improve next year with another year for the young guys, but this year they were a weakness that cost us last night.

Clemson had 4 times as many first downs, more than double the total yardage and 13 minutes more time of possession. The game was a blow out. It is remarkable that the score wasn't much worse.
