How so? Cheap, reliable and accurate. Well balanced gun. Feels good in your hands and looks good. I've got a Golden Boy in .22LR.

Other than the very cheap henry .22 (which is still a very good rifle for the price), henry makes some of the best stuff out there. Henry definitely has fit and finish figured out.

Now henry actually doesn't make the original Henry Repeater anymore (that damn yankee rifle that they load on sunday and shoot all week) but uberti makes a very fine copy of the original that gets tons of praise.

The Marlin action is more robust. Marlins can be had with a pistol grip (not a true "pistol" grip, but rather a more angled grip).

Is the caliber the difference?

If you buy a rifle from Henry (or order a catalog) they give you a "Load on Sunday, shoot all week" sticker.

It's no Yeti sticker, but still.

Nah there's a good bit of difference.

The original henry repeater isn't good for much other than looking extremely good and having a lot of fun with. It's chambered for pistol calibers (.44-40, .45lc, etc) and isn't much of a hunting gun.

The one you posted is actually a marlin action with a henry gun built around it. Supposedly a wonderful gun. I don't know because I've never even touched one. The marlin action is great and henry makes good stuff so it should be a fine rifle.

Ahh, OK.

I know McCrae used a Henry 1860 chambered in .44 rimfire with that cool flip-up ladder site.

Uberti makes good stuff, so if you want the original old school henry repeater I wouldn't nearly be scared of getting a uberti.

Unfortunately you have to choose. Do you want a henry rifle

Or a henry repeater made by someone else

Unfortunetly you can't get a new henry repeater made by henry
