kinda of a weird question, but he was trying to be polite and respectful about it. No reason to be an arse towards the guy.

I didn't see anything disrespectful in his question. I am a veteran of the first Gulf War and I don't think asking questions like that is disrespectful. Now granted, I didn't see action over there like the guys of today. Lake started the conversation about how his friend was KIA and the video even showed some bloody scenes from the attack. Dolla just wanted to know the real version opposed to the media version.

Dolla, as for your question about the Iraqi soldiers. I can tell you in the first Gulf War, I worked an EPW camp (POW). These guys were pretty respectful and courteous. You have to remember though, in the first Gulf War they were dug in for months waiting for US to invade. We simply bombed the frick out of the for a month, making the ground invasion a push over. They were surrendering to anyone, including a CNN news crew.

I can't imagine how anything that happened that day was your fault so you can't "what if." Jake was taken for a purpose and he fulfilled his duty to the highest of degrees. You've got to learn to move on and deal with the life you have now, the one you're able to lead due to Jake's and others like his sacrifice. How would he want you to life it and if the roles were reversed how would you want him to live his. If you're struggling, you need to reach out and talk with someone. Thank you for your service and God bless your fallen friend

Lake - may not mean much but you did everything you could possibly have done that day. In hindsight I know you wish you could have done more - but I would imagine that Jake and others see that you were heroic in your actions.

Please talk to a counselor at the VA, Vet Center, or privately and get into a vet support group. I salute you as an American hero and pray for Jake and his family. Thank you for your service. If there is any small thing I can do to help let me know - put it on this board. If it's a place to stay for a weekend at Disney or some fishing in Central FL - it's time the regular Joes in America do something ordinary to give back.

Moving video. If you put it out there, you must learn how to handle response or inquiry. I'm appreciative when people ask me questions about my service, yet no one does. I question your actual role in this.

Damn hit the makers a little to hard last night. No area code is not 228 that's my football number and year I was born. Thats fine if you question my role over there, I question it nearly every day. Here is a pic of us right before we left Jake is bottom middle all of us were there that day minus Doc he is not in the pic and 8-ball took it. We were some bad arse good looking dudes I must say, well minus Turbo. I'm top second from left.
To the guy who asked about what happened I felt no dis respect. Hung over and headed to the hunting camp to celebrate my little girls birthday. Peace out OT

Man that video

His dad seems like an outstanding individual. No doubt it rubbed off on Jake.
