Macbook's Quality is far Superior to the PC's and they don't get Virus's.

I have to say this. I owned a Gateway, Toshiba and Dell prior to getting a MBP and was hesitant about making the switch at first. Turned out to be a great decision and the thing still runs as good as it did four years ago.

I was in your boat a week or two ago....in need of a laptop. never, ever again will I buy a Toshiba.
Anyway, I have decided to go with the 13" Macbook Pro. I want the SD drive and the disc drive.

Yeah I'm not a fan of trillhog or Apple, but I have to agree here... the Air is not a netbook.

I have a 6 year old Macbook. 2 hard drives and 2 batteries later I'm running linux.

I know they make a quality product, which is why I bought one in the first place, but I have had nothing but issues with mine. They're support team has been absolutely zero help and they're response as to why machine is giving me so many problems is, I "have a lemon" and they have done nothing to help me.

I don't think so, but I don't plan on using mine for gaming or movies, etc. My current laptop doesn't have the retina display and I have no issues with the visual quality.
I mean, it's cool and all, but not worth it IMO.

What does your OS have to do with killing batteries and HDDs?
Laptop HDDs/Batteries have an avg 2yr life span.
