Can't recall if we have done this before. Is there a best buy out there? Not sure I want to get top of the line, but don't want POSs either. My current ones were cheap from Eyemasters. Pretty good, but want something a little better. Must fit huge nose.

I went with Costa's for my Rx Sunglasses.
430 and change out the door, not cheap but better than the crap I was buying and rebuying all the time.

I just may do that, but was hoping to see some other options.

My youngest boy wears glasses and Vision for less said they can take any pair of glasses and tint the lenses. So we had that done on a pair just a few months ago for him.

You can get pretty much any of the name brand sunglasses in Rx.
Costa, Oakley, Ray Ban, Bolle, etc.
Just have to find a local place that deals in the preferred brand.

I took in my Ray-Bans and had the lenses made, about $300, but worth every penny.

I own a pair of Maui Jim Rx that I have had for 6 years or so and they are unrivaled in anything I have every used as far as optics and fit.
I recently bought a pair of Rx shooting glasses from SafeVision that I love. They were cheaper but offered OSHA approved safety lenses with a variety of coatings and tints.

Just get Oakley's man - basic Flak Jacket frames, and you'll have those for years and years and years. It is like seeing with new eyes - I was a cheap sunglasses guy for 3 decades. Once you go Oakley, you never go back.

I had both of my Costas get Rx lenses in them from my local eye doctor. He sent them off for $110 (my insurance paid some for sunglass lenses)
cost of sunglasses ($250) + Rx lenses ($110) = total cost ($360) per pair

Yes.
Amazing customer service.
Down side is that if you want to try on frames, you have to purchase them, have them mailed to you then send them back and get credited.
They will spend quite a bit of time with you on the phone getting you what you want.
Mine are just clear for woodworking and shooting indoors.

My nose bridge is a problem. Probably going to need some with the adjustable pads. Trying on is a must.

Methinks it is actually that giant watermelon seated atop your neck that is the problem. These glasses must have really wide frames, b/c his head is large.

Well, there's that too, but with sunglasses, it's the cro-magnon nose, not the Oompa Loompa head that is the problem.

I need some sunglasses with a little reader lens in the bottom... like a 1.5 or 2.0.
Costa's or something similar? Ideas?
I was in your fine town Saturday, Alx.. not sure if I saw you or not.

I guess I could just get whatever Sam's Club sells. I have Rx frames from them with Transitions lenses that I love. Need a set of full time sun though that are polarized.

My two hunter-fisherman boys have prescription RayBans and like em.

ive used the same frames for a couple of sets of lens... usually i just get distance lens, but it makes it hard to tie a line or hook my release on my string loop... the last ones are progressive tri-focal, I think.. it takes a while to get used to em high up in a climber, or walking to a stand before daylight with a flashlight... depending on how you tilt your head, the ground will sneak up on you and kick ur arse...
