been on for quite some time, and yet it's still not on netflix? I've seen the first 2 seasons, and am hooked, and was hoping to catch up on the series on netflix, only to find out it's not on there. What gives?

Netflix only has contracts on certain content (not all studios). Showtime pulled their shows from Netflix about 2 years ago iirc. Pretty dumb imo. I only started watching dexter b/c I could stream it on netflix. I watched the first 2 seasons and I was hooked. I've been paying for showtime since b/c of it.

I'm don't think any of the shows on subscription channels (Shoetime, HBO, etc...) are on Netflix.

Weeds is on there. Isn't that Showtime or Cinemax? I am pretty disappointed in this situation.

It was streaming on Netflix a few years ago. I watched an episode just to check it out.

There are a couple Showtime shows on there (Tudors, Weeds). I watched the first two seasons of Dexter there until they took it off. Starz used to have that deal with Netflix too. I think they are just moving to having their own shows to compete with the other subscription channels (Lilyhammer, House of Cards, Arrested Development)

If they were smart, they'd leave it a few seasons on netflix so others would do the same.

They do? So I can subscribe to showtime and watch Dexter seasons 3-6 on this service? I can't seem to find it.

Raspberry Pi is a PC board($70) running Linux that you load XBMC on a SD card. Once loaded it has an HDMI (capable of 1080P) out to TV. XBMC is very useful multimedia software. Dont want to get into trouble but do some youtube and google searches on those two and you will learn more

Depends on your provider. Showtime & HBO won't just let you subscribe to them like netflix. You have to subscribe via your cable/satellite provider. I don't think all the providers have gotten on board with them just yet.

Has XBMC evolved? Last time I looked, it was just a media center. Don't get me wrong, it is nice. But without content, you have nothing. XBMC is a pretty way to organize your own media library. Netflix is a subscription to access someone else's library.

Not IMO

Netflix is pretty much a direct competitor now that they are producing their own content.

Showtime launched their Showtime Anytime app to better compete with HBO (w/HBO Go) and Netflix.

Now, if you want to rip them for lagging behind in the number of cable providers that let you use the Showtime app? Have at it b/c its super annoying how few they work with.
