You don't need a good pg if you have wade/lebron, kobe/gasol/shaq, Jordan etc. We dont have 2 top 10 players in the NBA.

The triangle offense negates the need for a great pg as well. We don't run the triangle.

Tony Parker
Rondo
Billups
Wade 1st ring
Kidd

These pgs were paramount in winning championships. They led the offenses on "teams". That's what we will need, IMO. If we have a healthy Gordon to go w Davis and Anderson, not having a legit pg wouldn't allow the offense to live up to its potential

Pretty Good,RYNO,and AD are 3 borderline all stars(hell it wouldn't shock me if we were in the East that the latter two would go this year)

SF is our biggest point of need

The only way we get that "elite PG" is if we get Brandon Jennings or CP3 which isn't likely

I'm not saying gravy is the long term answer but he will do for now at least.

I know Dell said Davis is going to be center in the future, but if Alex Len is on board I'd rather take him and leave Anthony at PF

I truly believe if the Hornets dont get the #1 pick they would trade down to a team that wants Noel or Zeller. Also I played Division 1 college basketball for two years and playe in the same event as Vazquez his biggest weakness is his size and lack of quickness/speed, often times you see Vazquez has to turn his back to initiate offense because the defender is so much lower and quicker, that having been said I believe for what he has done this year stick with him for another year and see his development then make a decision on his future, would have hoped Rivers or Gordon could take on this role.Would love it if....
PG: Vazquez/Veteran Backup/Gordon or Rivers
SG: Gordon/Rivers
SF: Anderson/ Otto Porter/Aminu
PF: Davis/ Veteran Backup
C: Len or Zeller/Lopez

Nerlens Noel is a flat out bad basketball player. He can block shots and nothing else. He makes Mason Plumlee (a robotic player with horrible post movies) look like Kevin McHale.

Cody Zeller, I think, is basically done improving. He came out as a very polished player from high school. He is athletic and knows how to play the game, but he is just not a dominant player. Doesn't demand a lot of shots, not an elite rebounder, or tough player. I would pick him late lottery but someone will take him top 5 and probably regret it.

Marcus Smart can't shoot to save his life.

I like Otto Porter, but he is not a top 5 or even top 10 pick.

I like Shabazz. I need to see more to be convinced that he is a top 5 pick today, but I can come around to him.

CJ McCollum is a great player. Can step in from day one and be awesome.

Ben McLemore is another great player. I am curious to see if he has changed at Kansas and become a coachable player. All of his high school coaches despised him.

I also really like ANthony Bennett from UNLV. Much better than Zeller, Noel, Len, and Plumlee. Great instincts for the game and incredible skill set for a 260 pound guy.

My draft board would probably look like this right now:

Bennett, McCollum, McLemore, Poythress, Shabazz, Trey Burke, Cody Zeller, Mason Plumlee, Michael Carter Williams, Doug McDermott. I don't really like any player that much after Burke.

McAdoo shouldn't be in anyone's top 30.

No offense you are flat wrong on all of these. CJ McCollum will be a good player in this leauge but his potential is the lowest of any lottery pick.
Anthony Bennet is similar to Davis in style of play, we wont draft him, and Len or Zeller are better than Bennet.
Right now based on need Muhammad then Porter/Poythress.
Noel is a beast defensively by far the best interior defender but like most players like him struggle right now offensively because of a lack of experience.

They aren't all that similar. Bennett is about 6'8", 260 while Davis is maybe 6'10", 230? Bennett is a better outside shooter, has really solid low post moves and more range than Davis. Davis is much more athletic, better rebounder, much better shot blocker, etc. I can easily see both guys on the court at the same time, if the Hornets do away with the Robin Lopez experiment.

I wasn't ranking the guys based on Hornets need, but I don't see how Bennett would cause redundancies for Davis. The only problem is that you couldn't really trot out Davis, Bennett, Anderson as your front line.

If you have to pick a 3, go with McLemore or Muhammad. Porter is a huge reach early in the draft, and I have always liked his game. I called out the media for not putting him on pre-season lists over jokes like McAdoo, but he hasn't been as good as I expected. And he is too much of a power forward in college to be able to transition into the 3 spot quickly at the next level.

As for Noel, I have never seen a guy struggle as much as him on the offensive end, at least when it comes to elite recruits. I called him out all over the MSB during the high school all-star games. With a ball in his hands, the guy can barely chew gum at the same time. But none of this is surprising as the guy averaged 13 points and 7 rebounds per game in high school. He can block shots. That's it.

McCollum reminds me a bit of Lillard, when you look at his production. Better shooter, not as good at spins, but can finish through contact much better than a guy like Rivers.

ETA: Davis, Anderson, Zeller/Len/Plumlee/Noel/ are all much less plausible line-ups than Anderson, Bennett, Davis though.

The reason you draft in the lottery is because you have a need the smart teams look to address those needs I trust Demps/Monty. You dont want a bunch of guys that are similar, you want players that compliment one another.
As it stands at the end of the year
PG: Vazquez/
SG: Gordon/ Rivers
SF: Anderson
PF: Davis
C: Lopez

The reason Muhammad or Porter are a need is because both are great defenders that can defend multiple positions. Another scorer is not whats needed, also you agree as I do that Lopez and Vazquez are not long term options, so a true PG and a good center for the future are also not bad depending on draft position.

I pray McLemore and Bennet are not drafted by the Hornets.

I have yet to see Anderson consistently guarding the other team's 3 or a Lopez/AD/Anderson on the floor at the same time.

#1 shabazz
#2 Zeller
#3 Len
#4 Noel
#5 McCullum
#5-#10 in any order
Bennet,McLemore,Porter,Poyhtress,Goodwin

I really like Bennets numbers, but ive never seen him play(same with Mccullum). I really like Mclemore, Shabazz,Len, and Zeller.

If we get the second pick, i would like to trade down for two top 10 picks and take Mclemore/Bennet/Mccullum/porter/poythress.

I think right now our priority should be do good this year suck next year and take wiggins or parker and solve our sf problem

You have made this decision after 10 games where they have dominated? I'll take the player who has actually improved in the past year or two over the guys who earned their rankings as juniors in HS.

I am a complete amateur at talent evaluation and have no clue where anyone should go in the draft, but I really like watching Otto Porter play. I would love to see him on the Hornets. I don't think he's a star necessarily, but he does everything right.

I'd love to have a SF that does anything right.
