if you want to get real serious about baking bread, and want to know the logic behind everything, not just the recipe, then Crust and Crumb is the way to go.

if you just want recipes, and don't want to worry about the details, then Artisan Breads Everyday is great.

I have both, plus The Bread Baker's Apprentice. I read Crust and Crumb to get the underlying logic but Artisan Breads Everyday has become my go-to for my week-to-week baking.
