Picking up the honey baked ham on Monday. Doing rice dressing as well. Not sure what else yet, but I am looking forward to some leftover ham sammiches on soft white Bunny bread.

Will be doing Christmas at an Aunt's in N.O. One of her sons will be roasting a turkey with oyster dressing for a main course, an I am bringing an 8lb standing rib roast as the second choice. I wanted to do a Yorkshire pudding to accompany the rib roast, but it is just seems too filling with all of the meat available. The sides will be some grilled asperagas, mashed potatoes and roasted Brussel sprouts. My Aunt typically makes a fancy salad of some sort. Dessert is going to be a white chocolate bread pudding, carrot cake and/or fruit and cheese.

The traditional family Christmas Eve dinner has been split into two events due to size constraints. I had a choice of Brother's house or Son's house. I went Brother last year. Going Son this year.

The menu will have lots of traditional Mexican food since my DIL's extended family is coming up from Mexico and her Mamacita is a great cook.

This Christmas menu will suck, but normally, it is

Jamón Pata Negra
Salchichón
Chorizo
Lomo
Various Patés

washed down with a benign but tasty Navarran rosado (rosé), or Vega Sicilia Único

Dungeness Crab
Spider Crab

Room temp ´caldos´ of the same

washed down with Terras Gauda Albariño, and Verdejo for those of a lighter and tangier palate

Seafood Soup

Brick oven roasted Baby Lamb
Green Salad
´Bolitas´of potato (similar to melon balls in size) of various flavor enhancers

Lots of Vega Siclia Único

Möet Chandon, Mumm´s or Tattinger´s, with sick, overloaded plates of Turrón, Polvillos, Truffles, Candied Fruit, Candied Almonds, Walnuts.

FML this year
