Looking back to the the time when BR had a very good Rock scene with good local bands and the venues to match. It was special time in the late 70's/early 80's when BR was just a cool place to be.
Pot Liquor
Maniaxe
Blue Max
And venues like Papa Joe's and the Sports Page come immediately to mind.
Who else was there...........or better yet, who still remembers?

Contraband. I thought I was in love with the singer a time or two.

The US Times
Isocelese Popsicle
The Shitdogs
The Bill Guess Band
The Charlie Pappy Band
Flight
The Basement Wall
The Greek Fountain
John Fred and the Playboy Band
Bas Clas (from Laffy)
Too bad Bill Davis is a huge tool.
Speaking of Bill Davis, I'll also add the Human Rayz, featuring Tim Parrish of the Lower Chakras.

Has anyone mentioned The Eames Era?

The Circuit Breakers were a lot of fun back in the 80's. A couple of years ago I stumbled into the reincarnated Circuit Breakers; I think Bruce Lamb is all that is left from the original band but I enjoyed the new incarnation.
Not Baton Rouge bands but A-Train and Asleep at the Wheel played Baton Rouge pretty regularly and were favorites.
