Just did a 50/50 mix of Weller 12 and 107. How long do I need to let them sit before sampling.

I think a sugar cube makes a WAY better Old Fashioned than Simple Syrup. Am I doing it wrong or do others agree?

No shite? I started making them with SS and then tried sugar cubes. Recently I ran out so I used SS for a few days until I went to the market and IMO they were not nearly as good, this was reinforced once I got more sugar cubes.

Also, why are you using expensive bourbon if you are mixing and Benchmark is available!

Benchmark would give you twice as much for that price! I mean, that's a couple grand a year and Da Bench is better!!

How much SS and sugar cubes do you put in? I usually put in one sugar cube or one teaspoon of SS in and I like the cubes a lot more

I put three cubes with a couple dashes of bitters and add a little water to make the sugar dissolve or I use 1oz of simple syrup with 3oz of liquor.

Tannehill, most of us let them sit for at least 2 weeks before actually pouring. Make sure you mix really well to blend them initially. I've noticed at after a month of sitting I actually prefer it to 2 weeks. Not sure if it's a mental thing or actually is.
I just mixed a 50/50 mix last week to do a side by side with my 60/40 myself.

I prefer 50/50 so I went with that.

Also, got another bottle of EHTBP today as a late bday gift. I have 4 bottles now. Anyone want to trade me something for it?
