I am new to using this stuff. Found this on another board. Dude is white perch fishing at Saline,

Is this the HDS8? very interested in this kinda stuff...never had a need for it with the shallow water im fishing most of the time but you can def see the advantages on reservoirs...looking at buying a side imager soon but i may just wait until i can get the 360 down imager from humminbird

Experience is the best teacher. Once you understand what you're looking at, it's easy to find brush piles, baitfish, differentiate between soft and hard bottoms, etc.

I didn't realize people used sonar when freshwater fishing


seems like you'd bounce off a lot of trash





I like looking at the screen, 500ft of water. A line of red snapper at 120ft, a line of AJ at 180ft, and some grouper on the bottom
