Miles’ ‘Twitters’ popular

Miles is the most closely followed college football coach on Twitter, according to USA Today.

The newspaper’s study said that as of 4 p.m. Tuesday, Miles (@LSUCoachMiles) had 87,513 Twitter followers, nearly 6,000 more than Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly (@CoachBrianKelly).

“It’s surprising, considering how little I Twitter,” Miles said. “I probably need to Twitter a little more, to be honest with you. As I anticipate the holidays coming up, I probably need to get a good quality holiday Twitter out there — like ‘Merry Christmas’ would be a fundamental one. Or ‘Merry Christmas’ and maybe ‘Happy New Year’s.’

“Then you could say some personal things about Santa Claus and maybe the reindeer. There’s some things you could do that would really, really zing holiday spirit.”

According to the survey, Georgia’s Mark Richt (@MarkRicht) is third with 55,224 followers, and Tennessee’s Butch Jones (@UTCoachJones), hired by the Volunteers from Cincinnati on Dec. 7, is fourth after gaining 52,704 followers in less than two weeks.

“All of those people that are competing with me for that position — I could say that I have not prepared often, and I have not worked at it at all,” Miles said. “It’s a shame if they’re disappointed in any way, and if they have Twittered more than I, in fact, they should be disappointed.”

As of Tuesday night, Miles had “Twittered” a mere 502 times.

YE YE!

I love it when Coach Miles' started live tweeting from the College World Series this year. It was awesome to see the national media's reaction to each tweet.

Hopefully after the season Coach Miles can pick it up more.

nitwit, interesting name selection.

blackjack: named for gen. blackjack pershing.
jackson, heritage family name since 1840, in honor of 7th president.

lsu early 60's. 2.5years usarmy (volunteered for draft and vietnam, but spent time stateside.) graduated g.s. for quick law school entry. but, hired by ibm for day job. (marketing - was making 6x what lsulawgrads were making.) very successful, then texas instruments eastern u.s. mktg director (sr60=pre-p.c.) unsuccessful marriage to a 10. gave up corporate 3piece suits o study acting. 2yrs UHouston drama, American academy of dramatic arts (l.a.) and continuing at usc and ucla. many plays, and some tv and movie credits (even have a shared emmy). OH, while at lsu, became gym-rat at alvin roys. swimmer in h.s. runner for 40+ years (marathons, etc, trailruns/thousands of mountains..(ran mt.whitney rt in 10 hours, ran rim to rim grand canyon twice, ran half dome twice - 10hrs.) besides scouting/camping/hiking for 10 years-including high adventureteam leader- snow/desert camping, technical climbing, etc)martial arts from army to age 55- including boxing) daily yoga practice for last23 years. zen meditation for last 35 years. schwinn bicycle from santa monica to jacksonville, fl one summer. have traveled the world extensively, including ship, plane and train. have visited almost 90% national parks. lots of love, but didn't want children.

it's all about choices. to pursue acting, i worked airlines for 10 years, movie extra 10 years, secondary teacher 10yrs.

to repeat: i have sag pension, teaching pension and soc sec, but, family died and now i'm wealthy and financially secure.

but, i lived life to follow my bliss. the money in the early days was easy, it was the being happy that was important to me.
nitwit, i do hope you follow your bliss and not try to be a looser like the other negatigahs on the rant. you know who they are, b/c you hang out with them. trying to be a looser is a losing proposition.

miles teaches young men to be winners and not to whine a moan like the negatigahs. he is popular on twitter b/c people like him.

you can live in faith or fear.

oh, i have had a fantastic, exciting, adventurous life. i never wanted to live/work in an office.
now, i pursue spiritual paths, forestry, petroleum, cancer, and lsu sports.

yes, all this w/ a general studies degree from lsu.

and, some of the athletes will take their degree and make 100x more than you.

p.s. read sig line below...

No complaints from me black jack. Saw someone ripping gs degree in another thread.

Whats important is that 29% or undergrads graduate from LSU in 4 years. Chances are the guys making fun of any degree, prob dont have one.

Yeah let's make fun of football players fir taking basket weaving. While they are making millions and the guy making fun of them failed business calc.

business calc.

ha, ha, wow. b/c of vietnam, i stayed in school thru 3 flunks. i flunked french and switched to business.
my first day of business calculus, i opened the book and then i dropped out and volunteered for the draft.
i also volunteered for vietnam, but while at transfer station (3/70) in oakland, nixon nixed draftees to war zone!!!
i missed the last plane for vietnam by 3 days and spent my time in los angeles afees!!

2.5 yrs later i was not gonna try BUSINESS CALC again, so i took general studies.

AND, i got semester work credit: 6 hours (for marching/pe,) 6 hrs for typing/filing,) and 2 hours credit for shooting a weapon.

i really support military service. it was the time that i became my man. :usa:

It's like the Vomit Free Since 93 Drunk Ted scene from HIMYM, where Barney gives him his phone back from Marshall and Lily, saying "I don't know what he's going to do next, but I can't wait to find out"

Everyone awaits Miles next great quote, presser, jog to wrong sideline, or grass chomp, etc..

Gotta love the guy..regardless of one's Posi or Nega stances.
