My PSA lower came in today but the dealer closed before I could get there. Lower parts kit are out for delivery to the house. UPS usually runs late. Mt PSA Upper is all ready and waiting.

I thought I would assemble the lower Saturday but I doubt I could wait that long.

Id look for a hammer forged barrel with a 1-7 twist thats at least 16 inches.

Which reminds me, I have been meaning to get the OB's thoughts on the pros and cons of hammer forging process vis-a-vis button rifling. I notice that many don't care to spend the extra coin for a bfh.

I have done my own research, but I know it pales in comparison to the OB's collective wisdom.

My first "build"
PSA upper and lower. I do not have a small enough hex driver for the Magpul trigger guard. I'll install that this weekend.

Lancaster AK. I lucked out with it. Early year AK by Lancaster. At the time they were a great company making great products. Lancaster turned to shite over the years. Customer service and warranty was about as bad as bad could be per online reports. I never any issues with it over the years. If I do, It's a frickin AK, I'll buy some sand parts to fix it.

Hammer forging is supposed to make for harder lands increasing accuracy and barrel life. Honestly if the rifle's final destination is a closet where it will be liberated only for a few shots a year then why bother, however if the rifles intended use is competition or combat then spring for the quality barrel.

Shot the AR a little bit this weekend at the camp.
Shoots good

Thinking about a MI gen2 SS series rail. Something slimmer and lighter. Mix it up a bit.

Anyone here own one?
