That talking point about scabs getting all the benefits that the union negotiated for free is exactly what my railroad union lobbyist neighbor spoke to me about Saturday night. I told him then they all should stop paying unions if anyone can get the same benefits without the union.
His disdain and antagonistic attitude about the managers and owners of the company he worked for was eye opening to me. I never knew a group of people to hate their employers so much before.

I would loved to have not been drunk during our conversation. When I first met him, he was just a train conductor. He has slowly moved up the ranks in the union and is now the state legislative representative for the union. He was laughing his arse off about how much more money and how much less he works than those stupid idiot managers and supervisors. He had nothing good to say about his company or its management.
He is a very socially conservative redneck Ole Miss fan, but votes D because what it means for his union.

I was blown away at how much union reps (various unions) make when I did some work during session. It's apparently a good ole boys club that pays non educated yes men huge amounts of money.
It's a lucrative racket.
Wisc. Union salaries.
In Michigan, its even worse. Making money off the labor of others.
