And I have been informed by my roommate that there is a place near our house that will take apart the whole suit and put it back together to fit you for 110$ a suit... This is getting pretty enticing.

problem is with their suits is the massive amount of padding in the shoulders. for me this is an issue since it makes me look like i'm wearing a zoot suit. also have a problem with their fabrics. if you do buy a suit from there though, def. seek out your own personal tailor (which i'm beginning to find out that there are few good ones, especially in BR) for alterations. also dangerous to try to alter the padding of the suit shoulder, might not drape properly afterwards.

You can get by with an inexpensive suit, however, the materials actually look cheap. I'd rather pay an extra $100 or so and have something that lasts longer and looks a bit nicer. Why are you so mad a-hole?

I'm not even mad. I just think this "balla" attitude is ridiculous. And there is a wide gap between BB/Lauren/etc and Jos A Bank. Not $100.

I just went to J Crew and spent $300 on one of their suits, no tailoring, and it fits perfectly how I wanted. And the material feels better.

If you want a RL suit go to Stein Mart. You can get a nice suit there for like 150-200 and have it altered.

I'd rather spend $400 on a really nice well tailored suit from Perlis than $400 for three cheap looking, ill-fitting suits from Jos A Bank.

But 2 for $500 at Brooks Brothers (outlets) is not too shabby. I'm all about looking like a balla on the cheap.

Where is the best place to get a suit in the South? Italian suits are the Cadillac right?

346, the line of clothing Brooks Brothers makes for their outlet stores, is complete garbage. Honesty, Brooks Brothers (non-bespoke) has really fallen off recently. The non-iron shirts feel like plastic these days.

This. I find it funny that they're still held up as some paragon of well made clothing (and that Cajunrevolution thinks they're "balla"). Their sizing is all over the place, and their materials have fallen off. There are better options out there.

The BB polos are still top notch, best brand out there as far as color choices and quality. They have some stuff that is still excellent, but just like everyone else, they have things that are plain awful. I agree with the plastic feel to the non iron stuff.

I'd be very weary of a place that only charged that little to do that. You want to get a suit thats fairly close to what you already want for fit because its hard to adjust everything. If you like a tight fitting jacket in the shoulders make sure you buy one. Don't listen to the sales guy. Keep going down in the jacket size till you can't put it on or its too tight, then go up one size.

yep, I can't even fit in Jos Bank's anymore.....I have to go to that XXL Male store on Airline Highway. Finding a size 62 jacket and 54 pants is a son of a bitch these days.

So you're going to pay 110 for each suit (4 for 450)then another 120 to get tailored? Am I reading that right? Like someone said, go to Perlis. You can get 2 decent suits for that price (250-400 a piece) and lifetime alterations.
