What? McGahee's leg was bent backwards like a bird and he was still drafted in the first round, knowing it would take a year before he saw the field.

Teams draft RBs a lot differently than they did back then.

If you are a team like GB what do you have to lose? A 7th rounder has no shot anyways on that roster.

People don't realize how big of a freak McGahee was. He was on a totally different level than lattimore physically.

Lattimore as a bigger back could have trouble.

McGahee wasn't as big but actually added weight to change his game. He knew he wouldn't have the same explosion/speed

I think Lattimore is more like Stevan Ridley actually. Best case

Starting running back for one of the best teams in the league? That's a pretty good case.

Not an insult. Just comparing him to a bigger back that dealt with injuries. Who wasn't highly thought of coming out the draft.

Yeah, McGahee was a fricking freak. A testament to his great athleticism and ability is the fact that he is still an effective RB at his age.

I think the disintegration of the RB position is a little over exaggerated. 20 teams in the NFL have a fairly consistent RB that they use for 15+ carries a game. Four backs of those twenty RB's average 20+ carries per game.

I would contend that roughly half the teams in the NFL are still run first teams.

6th round pick. maybe undrafted

Would be an awesome addition to any team this late. Imagine if he does recover

I hope he gets drafted somewhere. I thought he was done after this latest injury. Looked horrific.

This.

If he recovers and shakes the injury bug he's a 1-2 round talent. He'll get drafted, albeit late.
