Risky would be having his career end in college football without the chance to ever go pro

Whaaaaaaaat. Why. I don't think he'll get drafted.

but maybe he feels like he'll get picked up undrafted which is more of a sure thing than trying to rehab.. coming back.. and looking bad maybe..

Where is he in his recovery.

Yeah see that's kind how I started to take it.

At least he will get picked up based off his reputation and prior success.

Dallas drafted Bruce Carter in the 2nd round knowing he was recovering from a torn ACL and that he wouldn't play at all the first year.

I think it would be even riskier to rehab, sit a year out, and come back in '14 at SC, only to risk another injury and end any shot at going pro. I would spend a 6th/7th rounder on him, just to redshirt him for his first year. Teams have done a lot worse with 6th/7th round picks.

Who goes first: Mathieu or Lattimore?

I think its a good move for him. He's probably right about rehab and nfl doctors, and even if he can play another year in college he would risk further injury and all of his draft stock.

He seems like a good late round pick for a team with a little flexibility.

The RB position is not really at much of a premium. I think Mathieu goes first.

I think Mathieu goes first but in a few years once Lattimore rehabs he could be the steal of the draft

Lattimore goes in the 4th Rd with the injury. Book it.

Someone will pick him up. RBs cycle through like crazy, he'll get a shot somewhere.

Saints will probably trade up to get him. Can never have too many running backs on your roster.

Smart move, he might not be a high draft pick anymore but its his best chance of playing his way into a big contract. Besides rehabbing with an NFL PT staff versus college is night and day. He won't have to pretend to be a student anymore
