It's priced at $1,499.99 on sale from $2,299. Is that a good price?

This one isn't a plasma.

That's great.

Just be sure that what you're buying is an LG and not a Zenith.

Mine was a fricking Zenith. I would have never bought a fricking Zenith.

Given Moore's law, you are always better off waiting for next year's model.

I got the 55LM6400 model from Sam's for $1,000 on Black Friday. There's no reason to spend the extra money on a 240 HZ TV. You really won't be able to tell the difference. I have a 47" 240 HZ LCD in my bedroom and there really isn't that much of a noticeable difference between the two.

Do NOT waste your money on a smart TV if there is one available without.

Every single blu ray player these days is "smart" along with Xbox and Sony PS3. Smart TVs are only there to make tv companies more money per TV.

LINK

I got this bad boy a while back. It is 480 mHz for about the same price, and has all the other shite as the one you are looking.

Some people look down their nose at Vizio b/c they entered the market with a low-price strategy to gain market share, and b/c they are sold at Sams/Walmart.

That is not the case with this company now. I can tell you, everyone who sees my TV is stunned.

I am getting the 3D glasses for xmas. I get 5 channels on DTV in 3D, and have heard it will be very cool, but can't comment on that aspect at this point.

I use the apps, but they haven't replaced my Ipad/laptop/etc.

The apps we use most on the TV are Netflix (duh), FB, and the music apps.

To the other Q, you only use 3D when you play 3D movies, on 3D channels, or when some other event is broadcast in 3D (and it will be shown on anohter channel).

I believe the Super Bowl and the Masters were both broadcast in 3D this year. ESPN has a 3D channel.

Well we bought it and got it hung last night and we both love it. Found it at sams and they are having a no interest for 18 months special so I went through them.

Now I just need to run my cables in the wall and straighten up the area and I will be set.
