Perhaps the guy feared for his life being in a fight with a marine. As was said, you don't know what happened that night. Stabbing to end a threat could mean 7 times. It's not like he stabbed him 80 times. I guarantee if the races were reversed, some of y'all would be claiming self defense.

I do know that last year the Legislature enrolled a law say if you assault or batter a member of the army forces, the penalty is high. Not sure on Manslaughter, attempted murder, murder, etc.
